I can see that makes more sense but then Alexandra is the only one to have staff outside the Royal Court and as she does employ a spokesperson already (and she is Denmark rather than Paris)

April 16
The Schack family is attending QM 83rd birthday

That's what I character, that's what I call grace, the whole family being the bigger person, and attending her birthday.

Well, now she has what she wanted, showing a united front for the people. Brilliant manipulation.

I think the Danish gutter press is stirring up trouble, frankly. I can see them asking Alexandra's spokesperson for answers, not the other way around, the spokesperson issuing statements.

The big speculation the past few days in one rag was whether Marie would turn up today or not, and what it might signify in either case. Big headlines, expert opinions, you name it. And when she did turn up, that story sort of fizzled out, and the follow up articles were tame at best.

The press does stir up trouble in so many ways as it is.

I am happy they found a way to be at least united for the people - whatever goes on behind closed doors. They seem to have reached some agreement.

I think Daisy did help Joachim out this time on his job transfer to US.

Ach, Daisy should open her jewellery box already so Marie did not have to buy another pair of 10.500 Euro earrings from Maubossin that she already has in blue

Give her something nice and historic instead.

If she wants them away, this is even further away. And not a farm.

I've read that the Blue Mauboussin pair is not hers; it is part of the Nuits Claires parure (Tiara, Earrings, Ring) that she has on a permanent loan.

The pink sapphires, I don't know, but I don't think that Joachim would have Marie splash out 10K for those kind of earrings.

May 24
Prince Joachim and Princess Marie can celebrate their wedding day on 24 May.
Møgeltønder, exactly 15 years ago, on 24 May 2008, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie were married on a sunny and slightly windy day.

Friends and family had come from far and wide to celebrate the couple and their great love for each other, and the subsequent party was held at Schackenborg Castle, where the couple lived at the time.

Prince Joachim's maternal grandfather and grandmother, King Frederik and Queen Ingrid, were married on the same date- 73 years earlier. The then Crown Prince Frederik and Princess Ingrid of Sweden were married on 24 May 1935. The wedding took place in Storkyrkan in Stockholm.

The couple was subsequently celebrated on a carriage ride through the streets of Stockholm, and a gala lunch was held at Stockholm Castle before the bride and groom sailed home to Denmark later in the day, where the future king and queen were, of course, also celebrated.

The chef Jose Andres, who is famous for World Central Kitchen, is based in DC. He would be a great person for Marie to work with on food waste and other food insecurity issues. There are so many resources for this family in the DC area that I'm not worried about them at all. I grew up there and all of my family is still there and there is so much to do and so many different cultures represented. It will be great for them, I think.

A fun perk to living in Paris certainly to support Danish players. I like his glasses and laugh because my husband and I do the same sort of sharing with our aging eyes.

They look like they had a great time!  Love the smiles and laughs from both of them.  Joachim looks younger and happier here than he has in a while. Maybe being away from the Danish spotlight with less media has been good for both of them, esp in light of his health scare.
