It is totally amazing that she seemed to have managed the turn around after her big crisis - for a decade she just tagged along, often hardly interacting with the public - and now she finally seems to have found her place.

January 25Charlene celebrated her 45th birthday I wasn't a fan of Charlene - she seems to have morphed into whatever Albert wanted her to be in order to become Princess. Knowing how she had wanted out around their nuptials, I pitied her self sacrifice. Then, I noticed Albert conscientiously working on their relationship and Charlene looking torn ... These days, I am a Charlene fan. She seems quite graceful as Princess of Monaco. Pun intended. |

I am still not a fan, but she is doing okay. I am happy that she looks happier.
I know someone who had to look after her once she visited Stuttgart, Germany. It must have been really difficult, because she came across very aloof, but they suspected she was just not interacting what made working with her difficult and stressful.

I am not a fan neither. and I'll prolly be the only one on this branch...but I still feel that they re-worked wotever legal agreement they had and she returned. I still do not beleive that this is a love match. she is just whiling away the days with lots of escape routes. JMO. G  |

Strangely I do, the same way that I have always thought the Lux pair are. If it was just for marriage and heir production then Albert could have found a woman more 'suitable'. |

I honestly believe that Al was looking for a woman that would not overshadow him. Al is rather plain and he -for a while- did not have problems fathering out-of-wedlock children. I think the last person he wanted would be an attention seeking glam person - so Maxima and Mares would be out. He also does not like a rather dominant/ extremely confident person, so Leti-types are out as well.
I think he looked for a "Daniel" type - quiet, supportive, not too glam - and someone who shared a few interests (sports).
And there might be a bit of "dad as a role model" in him - he married a blonde, foreign woman speaking English as a first language. Just like his dad.
