Well, she looks good. What seems to be a problem with all Dutch nobility is that they are a bit "uppish", hence Amalia doing well in noble circles. The worst of them is Eloise, I follow her on Instagram and she is so full of herself, showing off her privilege that it is really disgusting (IMO).

"all Dutch nobility" is quite a statement when you're only talking about some daughters in the royal family.
Dutch nobility consists of abt 10,000 people in over 300 families, quite a few of them older than the current line of monarchs (which started in 1813). I have met/know/am friends with members of at least 50 of those families, both young and old, and every single one of them is very well-mannered, friendly and not at all uppish. The 'noblesse oblige' is real, them being active in all kinds of voluntary service. Yes they own vast tracts of land, castles, art, money but you wouldn't know from just looking at them.
Amalia happens to be the heir to the Dutch throne, so even if her family were boorish, she'd still be top dog one day.

I suspect there are rather practical reasons behind Bea allowing her sons to marry clever commoners (much like Margrethe 'made' her sons marry non-Danish women), one of them being to avoid gossip among all the noble ladies/mothers.

Much like te BRF are basically Germans, our RF are basically Germans. Norfolk a.o. are much much older (and 'noble') than the house of Windsor (S-C-G) even though they can trace their royal ancestry back for centuries. The DRF do have close and trusted friends among the Dutch nobility, but also quite a few among the German (former) nobility.

For many decades we had a royal family consisting of just 2 parents and an only child. Only when Beatrix and her 3 sisters birthed a total of 11 grandsons and 3 granddaughters to Juliana, our royal family exploded. These 14 grandkids have gotten at least 31 great-grandkids. Only a handful (basically Wax/Max's daugthers) are in the line of succession. The rest all got a proper education and work, (though oftentimes having the right surname opened doors to high paying jobs, investments and whatnot).

Ppl know about Beatrix's grandkids because they are the Triple A's, Friso's kids, and first grandchild Eloise and her siblings. Ppl know about Margriet's 4 sons because they are a bunch of competitive men. The rest are obscure, apart maybe from the illegitimate son of Irene's son Carlos. Idiot Eloise is the only one blatantly making a fool of herself.

Well said!  Star

Over the years I have also met several people with a (Dutch) noble background. Maybe the circumstances, but generally decent, polite and above all 'ordinary' people. Some withheld their title or full name because they did not want to be prominent. They wanted to be appreciated for who they are.

Some Dutch (gossip) media keepster on reporting Boris of Bulgaria being Amalia's new boyfriend.

My gut feeling say those two are just (good) friends,  nothing more.

Loosely translated as:

Princess Amalia is back in Paris, this time solo

No baking in Greece, Princess Amalia is backing the Dutch athletes again.

The Princess of Orange made a big appearance at the Olympic Games in Paris last week. Everyone actually thought she had traveled back to Greece with her parents and Princess Alexia for a few more weeks of vacation.

Amalia is an adult, however, is increasingly getting her own life and is increasingly charting her own course. On Monday she turned up in Paris again, this time solo (well, in the company of an unknown woman). But in royal company, because she was sitting in the grandstand with the king and queen of Sweden, Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg and King Felipe of Spain.

Amalia attended an athletics event at Stade de France in Saint-Denis and the individual show jumping qualification at Château de Versailles. She is also quite good at the latter, with her horse Mojito - no wonder she wanted to see the Olympic performances.

The jewel consists of a rose gold ring with two green tourmalines and a wine-red tourmaline as the center stone. The ring was handmade in the studio of the Hague jeweler Steltman. This is a familiar address for the Oranjes; Máxima's engagement ring, wedding ring and all three birth rings were also purchased there. Amalia's green-red glimmer came on the market in 2023 and costs 7,750 euros.

In the Netherlands there is an organisation called Wens ambulance ( = Wish ambulance). An ill person or their friends/ family/ etc. can put in a wish.

One lady put in the wish to go to the Olympics in Paris. For her a visit to Holland House would have been sufficient.  But the organisation, the volunteers went further for her. She e vcen got a meet with Amalia, who was apparently smitten with her assistant dog

Tourmaline- yummy!  I try not to bore everyone about crystals but Tourmaline is one of my favorites.  Any color!  Repels negative energy,  protective, supportive of good health & immunity. A very happiness engineering stone.  I personally lean towards purple or green Tourmaline.  There are some chunks that combine both - gorgeous.  Yellow tourmaline is gorgeous too 💛  but really, any color Tourmaline is a positive crystal.

https://nos.nl/artikel/25...h-lid-van-corps-amsterdam

Princess Amalia becomes a member of the Amsterdam student body A.S.C./A.V.S.V. and is participating in the hazing this week, reports Dutch magazine Quote. She would initially not have been selected for the regular introductory time, but according to Quote she participated in the so-called post-introduction time, with a camp in Leusden.

The Amsterdam student association is the largest fraternity in the Netherlands and holds a draw every year due to the large number of registrations. The association has been discredited several times in recent years.

In 2022, videos emerged via social media showing male members at a dinner party talking about women as "cum buckets" and "whores". A female member filed a complaint against four men, but the Public Prosecution Service saw no reason to prosecute them criminally

Amalia, who had just started her studies at the University of Amsterdam, decided not to join the corps. In doing so, she broke with family tradition: not only did she go to study in Amsterdam instead of Leiden, like her father Willem-Alexander and her grandmother Beatrix, but she also did not become a "member". However, the message was already emphatic that she had decided not to join at that time, leaving open the possibility that she would join later.

It then became clear that the Crown Princess was so seriously threatened that she could no longer live in Amsterdam. She ended up spending a year in Spain.

The Amsterdam corps also apologized to its members and former members last year for the years of structural violence during the hazing period. During the introductory period at some fraternities, new members were exposed to physical abuse, such as punching, kicking and hitting in the face, and severe humiliation.

Cultural change
According to the corps, a cultural change has now begun. There is a code of conduct and there are internal and external confidential counselors. The supervision of the fraternities by the association and the universities has been increased and the physical well-being of the newcomers is taken into account, who must also get enough sleep every night during the initiation process.

After being introduced to the association, Princess Amalia will undergo initiation at one of the more than thirty fraternities and sororities. The association also monitors this after the incidents in recent years.

The A.S.C./A.V.S.V. and the Government Information Service do not want to say anything about Amalia's entry into the corps.

The riders and horses of the Honorary Escorts of the Cavalry, of the Police and the Royal Marechaussee have been preparing for Prince's Day at the Duindigt racecourse in recent days. The Princess of Orange visited the preparations of three mounted Honor Escorts on Saturday.

During her visit, the Princess of Orange was briefed by the commanders about the preparations and talked to riders about, among other things, riding an escort and the different trainings.

The Dutch name for this day is Prinsjesdag. It is on the 3rd Tuesday of September

Over the years I've noticed Wikipedia has also good info about it.

That dress is way too old for her, but that color is scrumptious.

The Princess of Orange has thanked the people of Madrid for providing her with a warm welcome and safe place to study when she lived in the city.
She's gifted the city with a small tulip garden in the Plaza  de Oriente. The Ambassador and the Mayor of Madrid planted the first bulbs.
