The problem is most of the royals are asset rich and cash poor. There probably isn’t much money lying around to take care of anyone. Especially not long term.
Anything left in the wills would be subject to inheritance tax which is very high (40%) unless handed over in full years before someone’s death. One of the reasons QEQM divested so many cash assets when she did…she succeeded in out living any tax obligations her great-grandchildren could have faced.

It is strange if the bulk of her money went to William and Harry. William as the heir and future Prince of Wales and King wouldn't need it. Harry makes more sense, but $1 mil for these people is pocket change. Since Bea and Eugenie aren't working royals maybe they are allowed to accept freebies from designers?

I’ve been googling for info about their trust funds. Looks like in 1995 QEQM set up trusts for her great-grandchildren (at the time there were 6 of them). The bulk of the 19M she used was for William and Harry (14M between the two) while 5M was for the rest. Depending on the language the 5M was either split between Peter, Zara, Beatrice, and Eugenie alone or also went on to include Samuel, Arthur, and Charles who were born before her death. Margarita, Louise, and James were born after which can makes trusts a bit complicated depending on the wording. Best case the girls receive 1.25M each for QEQM and worse case 500k…before interest of course.
When Andrew and Sarah divorced 1.4M was put into a trust for the girls.
Current values would depend on when the began receiving income, when the gained access to the principal, and how much they’ve spent. But basically it looks like in the mid 90s each was allocated trusts that at the time were valued between 1.2M and 1.95M.
An impressive chunk of change for you and I but with the way this lot can live it could be used up quicker than they realize.
taking into consideration inflation and possible growth of these amounts...that is still not a lot of dough to be living on for these two. Edo yeah. he is possibly richer of the two sil. jacks seems more shady in his dealings (to me, JMO) and IIRC doesn't come form rich and titled family like edo does. I know he's some upper class toff but not that upper class... and not that wealthy. so it still leaves how do these two live so rich? mabbe Uncle ebbi left them his island? thanks everyone. G

Could the Queen and Phillip have taken care of the Yorkies financially? Sarah is a hopeless cause once it comes to money.
I remember that phil had accumulated few millions over his long life... does anyone remember if there was a trust fund for these two? G

G My cousins had trust funds of $150,000 set up by their stepfather in the early 1990s. It was regarded as a huge amount at the time. $1.2 million would have bought, say, a property portfolio of 15 houses for Eugenie that would be worth $20 million today.

Isn't it a distinctive feature of the British upper class that assets are not equaliy divided?
Look at the Spencers: Earl Spencer pretty much got everything: Castle, title, money. His sisters had to marry. TBH I think most of the attraction between Diana and Charles were also (besides her naivity and age) his social status and his assets. So she was taken care of.
In an equal society: What would Diana have done for a living? She was good with people, but very weak academically. She loved kids. So she would have ended up as a nanny or a pre-school teacher, something you did not need college for. That means she could have not afforded a house in London on her own: So it would have been a bed-site or marrying someone with a better income to be able to afford a terraced house in London at least.

@RCT #fashiondesigner #dress https://twitter.com/vickyhaddockAmerican fashion designer Zac Posen designed Princess Eugenie's evening reception dress of draped pink silk with a sheer cape for her 2018 wedding ( Inspired by Grace Kelly's Edith Head wardrobe in To Catch a Thief)

That dress was a real achievement by Zach Posen. I think as Eugenie ages, it will be a growing challenge to dress her elegantly when she develops the more matronly figure of her great grandmother, the Queen Mum. I think she is destined to resemble the Queen Mum physically more and more as she gets older. In other words, a not very tall but somewhat buxom woman who will thicken through the middle. And you know what? I don't think that will bother her particularly. She's never seemed as fashion-obsessed as her sister.

She's recently been in the news saying it's been hard to lose baby #2 weight. I think she'll stay fit but will not be waif thin. Kids and age and genetics are all in play too.

I just hope she realizies and owns her body and does not go down the route of taking Ozempic or similar drugs. Fortunately she has more fashion choices now than her great granny had. I like the Chanel jacket.

It doesn't matter how old you get, buying snacks for a road trip should always look like an unsupervised 9-year-old was given $100. Anonymous

I like the jacket too, but unfortunately, I don't think it flatters Eugenie.

Both of the Yorkies somehow always manage to put a good face on things and to enter in to their various causes enthusiastically. And I think Sarah should be credited for that rather than their spoiled baby of a dad.

I think Sarah is a mess of a person but she seems to have a good heart too and mostly means well.
