The middle daughter has an interest and ambition in her chosen field and I can see why Sonja would want to take her to Paris to meet people who could give her a boost to a career that she'd not only be good at but would take her away from her mother's influence as a young woman. You give your children roots and wings and these are the wings that will keep her from being tied too long to mama and what mama still needs to do. Anyone side eyeing this gal for liking makeup misses the point. They are showing her that there is more than the superficial parts. Learn all the layers and make a career. that is love.

Ingrid Alexandra does not have to search for the limelight/exposure, it comes searching for her if she wants it or not. Atleast two out of Märthas Louises three daughters  (not girls apparantly ) base their career out of their royal connetion even if they does not say it. I doubt Maud would get a book deal an art exhibition, a reality show participation etc without her famous connections, and if Leah would be as succesful as an influencer and be in a TV series without her name recognition is also a question... Emmas success in horse jumping is of course her own merit and she has otherwise a very low profile. IMO she is made up beyond recognition, the other two looks like themselves more or less. What a pitty their father did not get to see them grow up and how they devellop. Im sure a trip to Paris with grandma, who opens door she could only dream of, is a great experience and to get to rummage around her closet for designer bags and jewellery, Sonja has for the most part classic and better taste than ML. |

The people I know here in California who associated with the shaman are definitely on the vulnerable/naive/slightly sketchy side. I wouldn't want him within a mile of my daughters, btw. She's certainly a loving mother and probably a support for the girls without their father around. But thank goodness for him in their lives he seemed to be a more grounded rock than her. thank goodness too that her family is supportive of the girls too and they seem close with Haakon's family. If she and her daughters were more isolated I'd be more worried but not much can be done with the shaman from Oakland.
ML has always struck me, with all these alternative things and peoiple she collects, as someone who can't cope with harsh reality of life. her life is still well padded and cocooned and she still can't cope with it all. That's why I think she collects people like durex rubber and does her angels etc... not part of reality. T williams' glass menagerie, comes to mind. G |
