Martha Louise has done a «sussex»and give an interview in swedish to swedish television. Here she more or less says that the press is to blame for Ari Behns suicide. She says he was a celebrated authour before he met her, and after all he did, boks, art, tv, design of table wear, everything got bad reviews. She say that the press has acknowledged that they were mean to him and contributed to his death. She also says she is the most bullied person in Norway in the press trough the years, and that she has a whole other view on Norway since meeting Durek. She thinks she would not be so criticised of she was a man. She does not say anything bad about her family though, she says she is happy Haakon is the heir. She says she would like to return to royal duties in the future if it is possible. And that it was a joint family decision that she stepped down, but she was sad to do it, and she thinks it was not because of what she did but what her fiance said. https://www.nrk.no/norge/...for-kongehuset-1.16293154The norwegian editors are not happy about beeing blamed for Aris suicide, which they say is wrong and undocumented . The press has never taken responsibility forhis death and and says the princess seems to mix up what the press sources says, and what the press writes in their editorials. https://www.nrk.no/norge/...for-kongehuset-1.16293154Hold on. So she was talking about circumstances which may have led to Ari's death yet turned the whole interview back to her by discussing how she is the most bullied person in Norway? Seriously, this woman! She's learned well from the Sham-man.

A balanced editorial from Aftenposten that is a pro monarchy paper The princess lacks self-awareness Princess Märtha Louise feels sorry for herself. In an interview with Swedish TV, she says that she is probably "the person in Norway who has received the most criticism".
It can be difficult for those who have great privileges to see themselves from the outside. This is obvious for the princess.
At the same time, it is possible to understand her frustration. She has also previously expressed how, ever since her teens, she has struggled to get as much attention as she has. The Norwegian press should have been more careful with the coverage back then. The coverage of Princess Ingrid Alexandra's private life now is more considerate than the coverage Märtha Louise experienced.
At the same time, great interest and a lot of attention are part of the monarchy's price for the royals. They get both position, high status and privileges. Part of what they have to pay for is great interest in their work and the private life
For the royal spares there is an additional challenge. The heir to the throne has a goal and a meaning in life. Whoever is number two, three or four in the line of succession has a more unclear life project.
Märtha Louise herself has chosen to seek more publicity than she needed. She created an "angel school". She has published several books. She went on a lecture tour entitled "The Princess and the Shaman" with her boyfriend Durek Verrett.
Together with her daughters, she has appeared in TV documentaries for TV 2. On Instagram, she appears as a completely different influencer with marketing of both herself and products. This is how she commercially uses the celebrity status she has gained as a member of the royal family.
Märtha Louise has profiled herself in a landscape of alternative thinking. She has made controversial choices. When she is at the same time in the line of succession and part of the royal family, she must expect to have a critical spotlight directed at her.
The princess is sorry that she lost the official assignments for the royal house this autumn. But she has repeatedly demonstrated an inability to separate her royal status from commercial projects. The change this autumn may have been sad for her, but necessary for the royal house.
In November, King Harald and Queen Sonja announced that Princess Märtha Louise will no longer carry out official duties for the royal household. King Harald justified it well. It is a solution that will hopefully "give greater distance between the princess's activities and the royal house".
Märtha Louise suggests in the interview that the change is happening because of her fiancé's opinions. She is not firm, but says that she does not think she would be deprived of her official duties if she were a man. But in Britain, the situation is parallel to that of Prince Harry. He is a man.
King Harald chose to deprive his daughter of the assignments not because she is a woman. He did it because she couldn't keep order in her roles herself.

A kind and fair assessment. She probably thinks self awareness is the same as self reverential.

I think she was too pampered and spoilt growing up. The spare problem might have been the problem here - her parents would have been aware that ten years later, she would have been the heir (God forbid). She comes across friendly enough, but whenever she speaks more than a sentence you realize that she has left all rational grounds.

I think she will end up in some place like Marin County, California, which is filled to the brim with all kinds of New Age hoo-hah, anti-vaxxers, and crystal meditators. Alas, she will then be close enough to the county where I live that I'd probably have to put up with breathless celebrity news coverage of the doings of both the princess and her shamanic consort. UGH!

I'm VERY glad that a member of the press wrote such a balanced rebuttal to Märtha Louise's rants. Getting awfully tired of Royals giving interviews anyway - maybe they all need to just shut up.

March 16Princess Märtha Louise reveals surprising news about her upcoming weddingPrincess Märtha Louise shared news about her upcoming wedding with Shaman Durek when meeting her in Copenhagen for an exclusive interview in connection with the presentation of her clothing collection Hést. In June of last year, Märtha Louise got engaged to American Shaman Durek, whose civil name is Durek Verrett, but no plans have been made for the wedding yet, the princess explains when she is in Copenhagen with her clothing collection Hést in connection with Copenhagen Fashion Week. Not happening this year- "I am a very pragmatic person, so it comes when it comes. I focus on what is happening right now. It's the sports person in me. Because that's how it is with show jumping: it's one obstacle at a time. We don't know where or when we will get married. I know nothing. Right now I'm focusing on my children, my work, and of course my love for Durek. But the wedding will not take place this year", explains the princess, who can also confirm that she is not in the process of any collaboration with Durek. Not true- "We have nothing planned. It has been said in the press that I stopped my official duties because I had to do spiritual work with Durek, but that is not true at all. We have not collaborated since 2019", she says. Still just in loveThe couple is still equally in love despite the distance, says the princess. - "We make it work through communication. We were already good friends and had good communication before we became lovers. We talk about everything and are transparent with each other. Durek comes to Norway as often as he can", she explains.

Sounds like a break-up in the near future. Am I wrong that neither of the rings on her fingers is her engagement ring?

Her Hest logo seems too reminiscent of the Helly Hansen logo, an H here and there. They likely won't sue her or tell her to change her logo, probably because of Norwegianness for both and royalty and all, but it looks confusingly close in design to me.

Hopefully they split up before she marries him and he creates more drama once they split up. She is such a silly woman. I can't get it - with MM working so little, if she was any way normal Haakon would be more than happy to have her in a first lady position once his time comes (not much hope we will see more of MM then).
