Glad the baby is here safely, but I have to say I was so hoping for a girl. Considering Stephanie's age, this is probably her last baby, so it will be just the two boys.

Hoping Charles doesn't get too bent out of shape although as a two-year-old with a new baby taking a role in the family, a certain amount of acting out may be anticipated. I would hate for him to lose his sweet disposition, however.

The two year difference worked really well in Casa del RD.

I know you didn't mean it this way, but I find it so sad that boys seem to be so unwanted nowadays in our western society.

I think it might be more about another child for them unlikely ? And so expressions of interest for a daughter rather than not an "unwanted" son

François Henri Luis Marie Guillaume

"François" has no recent reference in Luxembourg royal history.  I assume it is just a name they liked, although some suggest it could be in honor of Pope Francis.

Lovely that grandfather "Henri" was included, since the Grand Duke's name was left out the first time.

"Luis," most likely, is in memory of Maria Teresa's brother, Luis Mestre, who died at age 64 on 1 June 2022. Interesting that they kept the Spanish form.

(For Henri and MT's children, Spanish names were changed to their French equivalents. Guillaume and Charles are named "Joseph," after MT's father, "Jose."  Prince Louis's middle name is "Xavier," in honor of his godfather, "Javier" Sanz.)

"Marie Guillaume" is tradition and part of the names of Guillaume's brothers (i.e., Fellx Leopold Marie Guillaume, Louis Xavier Marie Guillaume and Sebastien Henri Marie Guillaume) and his first son, Charles Jean Philippe Joseph Marie Guillaume.

Francois-Henri Montmorency (1628-1695) became Duke of Luxembourg by his marriage with Madeleine de Clermont, the daughter of Marguerite Charlotte de Luxembourg, Duchesse de Piney. Francois-Henri was a marshal of France.
