I know you didn't mean it this way, but I find it so sad that boys seem to be so unwanted nowadays in our western society.

After hundreds of years of boys being valued over girls, I think it evens out. Although I still don’t think boys are unwanted in western society. Most men I know want a son.

Glad the baby is here safely, but I have to say I was so hoping for a girl. Considering Stephanie's age, this is probably her last baby, so it will be just the two boys.

Hoping Charles doesn't get too bent out of shape although as a two-year-old with a new baby taking a role in the family, a certain amount of acting out may be anticipated. I would hate for him to lose his sweet disposition, however.

I think it's more that they have a boy, so the opposite gender would be nice. When I was having my third, I was very excited to be having a boy after two girls.

I was also super excited that my first grandchild was a boy, not that I really cared either way.

I know a lot of parents (and fathers) who wish for girls, they think girls are easier and much more calm than boys. Having two girls myself, I have to correct them every time. 

Years ago, (former) neighbors of my parents had a girl after 4 boys. My father congratulated them and asked if they were happy to have a girl now. Apparently the neighbors responded with a simple "it was God's will" (they were mildly conservative Protestants). My father was like, I was happy to have a daughter after 2 sons. Of course another son would have been just as welcome. The most important thing is that the child is healthy and well. Remarkably, no (more) children came to the neighbors after the girl was born
