Camila's outfit is giving me secondhand embarrassment. She looks ridiculous.  No

It’s normal for there to be a female interpretation of male uniform for a ceremony…

I haven’t seen many disputing that. Like myself, many just find Camilla’s interpretation cringy and undignified.

She looked…odd today.

It's hard to see Ed Kent getting so thin and frail, but that's a lovely tribute picture.

Context- it's 25+ degree heat in London.

Kate's ensemble looks very heavy, and if I were wearing it in such heat and humidity, I'd have sweat marks all over it.

When I first saw the Wales' kids I instantly thought they looked Victorian. I get that their outfits have to suit the occasion and look befitting of royal status, but perhaps their outfits could be modernised to fit in with the 21st century. I have to say, Louis is winning in his shorts given the heat in the UK right now!

Camilla...I get the inspiration for her outfit, and perhaps there was a sartorial requirement to emphasise her toke as Queen and as Colonel-in-Chief, but this was more of a misstep than a win. However, in the first few years of a new reign, and the first few years of there being a Queen Consort for over 70 years,  I'm expecting there to be some glitches, but I'm sure these will be learned from as the future dictates a reign of Kings for several generations.

The children are cute in their matching red. Charlottes dress is sweet. But her trumped up hairstyle is creepy and it was silly for the coronation too. She would have looked so charming with a young girl ponytail with a red ribbon or a simple braid with a red ribbon. Not a fan of the garish buttons on Kates dress but she looks fine clothes wise but I think very stressed face wise.

“Trumped up hairstyle”? You mean - “plaited hair”? Sheesh!

No, Hester, I didn’t mean to say anything but what I said. Sheesh!

Sorry, do guide me to what’s “creepy” about Charlotte’s hair. I’m just not seeing it.

Sorry, Hester, I don’t need to “guide you” into understanding various posts, including mine, around the board. That’s not my role. Go find someone else to get in a dust up with. Think about using the “scroll by” button. Thanks.

The @scots_guards have released a new picture of their Colonel Prince Edward, The Duke of Kent taken today for Trooping The Colour! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🎖️

They wrote: “The Colonel…for almost half a century”

Edward took on the role in 1974, 50 years next year!!!

Great photo - Edward Kent has been a royal  stalwart for such a long time, I'm glad he's still able  to take part in events

Flew back from London on Thursday, and it was so hot and humid. If I were her, my makeup would be sliding off and my dress would be dripping with gross sweat.

Not to duplicate a lot of everyone’s previous comments:
Camilla:  no on her outfit, just silly on a 75 yr old, appointment or not; wear colors and or jewelry symbolic to your military role but not this fake uniform.
Catherine:  nice but nix the brash buttons, very Diana-like.  Thought her makeup was a bit too heavy.
Kids:  thought Charlotte’s dress was adorable on her but agree, hair pulled back with a ribbon would have been better.  Boys both nicely dressed.
Sophie:  elegant
Charles:  ITA on comment of seeing Phillip.
Edward of Kent:  looking trailer, thinner.  Hope he’s able to be there next yr for 50 yrs with Scottish Guards.
Glocesters both look good.
Miss seeing QEII and the balcony full of extended family.  Big change but guess it is what is with Charles’ slimming.  Would be one time during the yr he should consider all.

The DM has an article that people are complaining that the sparsely populated balcony was boring, that they missed seeing everyone.  I agree.

I do have to say that Charles spooked me yesterday because he looked SO like his Father when he had the bear skin on. It was the first picture I saw when I opened RD and I got that sensation of seeing a ghost.

Wanna see something spooky? On YouTube, there's a biography on Louis Mountbatten with a clip where he's wearing the shako/bearskin hat. I think it was this one: https://www.youtube.com/w...mp;ab_channel=LucyWorsley. It was some parade ground thing later in the bio.

From the nose down, since it was covered by the bearskin, I immediately saw Philip, Charles, William.

Those Mountbatten (Hessian) genes are STRONG. That is a good thing; it's needed to combat the Windsor Ugly StickTM.

Yes next year I would like to see something on the order of hail hail the (royal) gang's all here, with the exception of Andrew. I'd like to see the Yorkies and their offspring and I'd also hope that Eddie Kent will still be upright and in his guard uniform as well as Princess Alexandra. And certainly all of Anne's tribe if, for no other reason, I think the little girls and the Wales kids can make some wonderful naughty mischief for all to see.  It's a family affair, not a meeting of the senior managing partners, after all. And I think somebody needs to sit down with CHarles and explain that fact.

Agreed. I don’t mind the slimmed down monarchy but for trooping the colour, it’s a family birthday celebration. I wouldn’t mind the full balcony.
