Nearly 1.1 million Dutch people live in poverty and 1.5 million households have forced payment arrears, according to figures from the Central Planning Bureau. The aid supply is often scattered across various local authorities, such as municipalities, food banks and other aid providers. With the "Stronger Together Against Poverty" program, the Oranje Fonds and Nationale-Nederlanden want to support local initiatives that promote an integral and low-income debt approach. This allows people to be helped faster and better.

Queen Máxima visits the program in the municipality of Haarlemmermeer. After a discussion about this initiative, Queen Máxima speaks to participants of the program, volunteers and professionals. There is also a conversation with experience experts. They tell Queen Máxima what participation meant to them and how they are doing now.

Highly unlikely indeed. She gets things done through her connections with other rich/influential people. It does work, but only up to a certain point, in my opinion.

Queen Máxima at Singapore FinTech Festival in the context of financial health

News item | 05-11-2024 | 09:36

Her Majesty Queen Máxima will be at the Singapore FinTech Festival on Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 November. She is doing this in her role as the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Advocate for Financial Health (UNSGSA). The conference will be held from 6 to 8 November at the Singapore Expo Convention and Exhibition Centre and focuses on technological innovations for financial services (FinTech).

On Wednesday morning, Queen Máxima will be at the opening of the festival. In the afternoon, she will open the 'Global Fintech Hackcelerator' for improving financial health. The hackcelerator is a competition for representatives of FinTech companies and financial service providers. In recent months, they have worked together to develop financial products and services that contribute to the financial health of both households and companies. These include products that help people get a grip on their daily income and expenditure, that enable them to invest responsibly in a business or save for long-term goals, that protect themselves against risks and that provide confidence in their financial future. These four elements together form financial health. Eighteen finalists from various countries will present their innovative and market-ready solutions at the hackcelerator.

On Wednesday evening, Queen Máxima will speak with a number of CEOs of partners of the Dutch development bank FMO about good examples that contribute to the financial resilience and financial health of their clients. Financially healthy clients contribute to the robustness of financial institutions and to financial stability.

On Thursday morning, 7 November, Queen Máxima will speak in the fireside chat ‘From Financial Inclusion to Financial Health’ about her 15 years of experience as UNSGSA for financial inclusion for development and the relationship with her new UN mandate. She will hold this two-way conversation with Tilman Ehrbeck, owner of Flourish Ventures and chairman of the UNSGSA-Reference Group with whom Queen Máxima has been working since 2009. On Thursday evening, Queen Máxima will present the FinTech Excellence Awards to the winners of the hackcelerator, who will then be announced.

Furthermore, bilateral consultations with financial service providers and FinTech companies are planned for both days. As UNSGSA, Queen Máxima is committed to promoting financial health worldwide by advocating for financial products, services and policies that focus on the needs of the customer. The indicators that determine financial health differ per country and culture. On the one hand, this requires a customized approach, on the other hand, a global approach. Events such as the hackcelerator in which solutions are devised and discussion meetings make an important contribution to this.

With approximately 66,000 participants from 150 countries, the Singapore FinTech Festival is the largest conference on this subject. The organisers are the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the Singapore Banking Association (ABS).

In general I like the boots.

My angst and such is more about the SM outfit of Satan, of which Max wears the top.

I feel like she's definitely going to wear the full outfit at some point Dead

With all the criticism about Maxima, one thing is different compared to  other royal ladies of her age:

She doesn't look like she had surgery, botox or fillers. Her hair still looks awful and it seems not to be important for her. The dresses and jewellery are her priority when it comes to looks.

If she stays like that and doesn't go the way of other royal ladies who are in their Fifties and feel the need to have surgery or whatever, I would admire her. for accepting ageing and still remaining your true self.
