Their family photos are always so sweet and to me they show a close, sincere bond between the parents and the children.

Against all odds (odds = Sof's behaviour and life choices, CP's silliness and being "not enough", breaking up with Emma) I like them as a family.

I was writing here "I give them five years maximum" - but they've turned to be the right person to each other, or it seems this way. I like what I see in their own relationshiip.
Of course I still concider both insufficient in representing a country but, again, IMO they look cute in their family photos.

I know they're on vacation (from what, I haven't a clue) but they really look shabby in this picture. They look like they shopped at the local thrift store for clothes and the boys' hair is still a mess. CP looks like he's in his underwear. 

No, I don't expect them to dress up to go to the beach. It would be nice if they dressed a little like they have a clothing budget, though. Maybe motherdear spent it all on frocks and new bobbles for her tiara.

They seem very content together and have some nice-looking kids. He doesn't strike me as a demanding spoiled brat. i think it's his dad who keeps pushing him forward into a limelight he might not actually enjoy occupying.

But also CP, Sofia and Madeleine seem to miss (partially) an aim/ a goal (or goals). They seem to prefer their 'freedom' and having the luxery not having to do much substantial

Madeleine works with Childhood behind the scenes. Unlike her brother and sil she seems content with a more private life so I would not group them together like that.

Does CP and or Sofia make their own living, or do they get an allowance?

I think they get paid for participating in official events and then live off his fortune. Considering neither actually works, someone must be providing for them.

I think she is starting to look rather snotty whenever they are at events. He looks the same, only older. Their life is obviously very easy and extremely privileged but I wonder if someone as Sofia doesn’t get easily bored and insecure as she’s aging.

This may be just me being weird as usual, but it jars me that the kids are barefoot and the parents are wearing shoes. I know the kids will have been playing etc, but I kinda feel like it's a metaphor for CP and Sofia keeping the lion's share of the money given to them and the kids not seeing much benefit.

Re the money - billionaires are the barefoot people now donchaknow! Once sneakers were a “tech squillionaires among the suits” indicator. Now, with heads of state wearing them, barefoot is a status symbol!

Sofia is wearing wooden clogs so I’m guessing she might have been barefoot with the children.

I think the way they look in the photo is very much a true representation of their approach to things: low effort and the barest minimum. That this is “Prinsparet of Sweden” doesn’t really show. But I guess if life is one long, relaxed holiday there’s little reason to bother.

I've wondered about their "pay for play" deal - I think in theory the allowance from the King is only to cover costs but I wonder exactly how this works - neither seem the most dedicated or bothered of people so IMO it must work out in their favour to be doing all the duties they do - their allowance came to £85,000 / €100,000 last year. I guess that can't all go on clothing so maybe it is in their favour to "work" for daddy.

I mean - he appears in similar too small fitting suits every appearance and she wears mid level prices clothing for each appearance. Even with his hair gel bill and her buying new stones for every tiara appearance I'd be hard pushed to think they are spending nearly €100,000 just on clothing / appearance etc.

I'm intrigued to see what Madde does now she is going to be living in Sweden full time, I wonder if we'll see her working much more for Childhood, getting even more involved in it and making these two turning up for everything but not doing much else look even more silly than it is.

According to UFO no more Sofia spent 75000 euro on new clothes and jewels in 2023. That is more than all the other scandinavian princesses /queens, more than Letizia, Maxima and Mathilde, (what is ID, so it is not two lines under that) but she spends alot on clothes and also jewels, for someone that is not the Queen and not the Crown princess. A good comparison is princess Marie who spent 13.000 euro in 2023.

In 2022 she spent 163.000 euro on clothes and jewels, just super spenders Charlene, Maria Olympia and the Princess og Wales spent more. For comparrison Marie spent 49000 and Victoria 35.000 in 2022 (for atleast Victoria couture gowns come in addition but that goes for Sofia also)

I’m also curious to see how this will play out. Are they going to start trotting out seven adults now to events? That would look even more ridiculous than it already does.

I’d like to see events slowly trickle to just the monarch and crown couple but in Sweden, I wouldn’t hold my breath for that. I wouldn’t be surprised if Madeleine was more of a private citizen and only did the big events and we still saw CP and Sofia regularly.

if they ' accept freebees or borrow' where did that 75k has gone? 

are those minuscule gems that expensive or that gel made from droppings of extinct dod bird droppings?

if she spends that much...who covers the rest of their ahrm...daily expenses etc? daddy bank?

Wow - well Sofia doesn't ever look like that much is spent on her clothing!

But - personally I suspected they are pocketing or profiting from their allowance for duties somehow - otherwise why carry on doing it. I wonder if Sofia gets a hefty discount that isn't passed on when the expenses are doled out. Sorry but I don't think either are filled with a sense of duty like, say Princess Anne in the UK and turn up because they want to or feel its their duty. I wonder if Madde will get some allowance now if she starts doing duties.

They will look stupid trotting out 7 royals for all but the most important events - the Nobels, state dinners etc. 7 royals sitting in a meeting room meeting 5 people looks daft. I'd love to think it means phasing out CP and Sofia but more likely IMO due to CGs clear favoritism I suspect it will carry on as now with Madde just attending a few of the bigger events.

To be honest I haven’t believed their marriage would last this long. I think S thought she could throw a ball, be a press darling and live a luxurious life. While last one might be come true and her life is a live long holiday the others never fulfilled. She might wear a tiara but looks always very insecure even after almost 10 years. Having smalltalk with some of the smartest people at the Nobel Prize or foreign politicians at gala dinners seems not to be one of her best. And remember the time during their engagement and wedding how much was dropped to the press. I bet she thought the press loved her especially after they threatened her with white gloves but reality hit hard when Victoria announced her 2nd pregnancy before the Sweden dinner and S pissed look cause Victoria took all the attention. I bet it wasn’t in her chart Victoria would have another kid.

I think they’re living of CP fortune and CG money. Expressen sometimes publish the shares income and S has almost nothing. So hopefully the boys get well prepared that they have to work and earn money.

Her face was priceless.  Not to forget that Madeleine gave birth two days after CP's wedding and the press didn't care about the wedding anymore. Hilarious.
