The National Program Heerlen-Noord is part of the National Liveability and Safety Program that started in 2022. Heerlen-Noord consists of fourteen neighborhoods with a total of 56,000 inhabitants, 69% of the total population of Heerlen. Over the next twenty-five years, residents, companies, governments and social organizations will join forces to work together towards a better future. The aim is to revive the old pride of the past in one generation.

After an introduction to the National Program Heerlen-Noord and an introduction to the alliance partners, the King meets various residents of the district. The King then walks through Heerlen-Noord. The walk starts at the Maankwartier where King Willem-Alexander receives an explanation from the police chief about the security challenges of the neighborhoods. In the National Liveability and Safety Program, the government, together with municipalities and other local parties such as housing associations, healthcare and welfare organizations, schools, social organizations and employers, is committed to improving the quality of life and safety in twenty focus areas in nineteen cities. to offer residents perspective again. The Ministries of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, Education, Culture and Science, Social Affairs and Employment, Justice and Security and Health, Welfare and Sport are investing to tackle the accumulation of problems in the relevant focus areas. Special attention is paid to better public housing, preventing youth crime, tackling poverty and debt and improving the quality of education. A total of 1.2 million inhabitants live in the twenty focus areas.

King Willem-Alexander will open the H'ART Museum, formerly known as the Hermitage, on June 18. At the same time, the first major exhibition about the Russian-French artist Wassily Kandinsky will also start there.
The Hermitage previously collaborated with the State Hermitage in Saint Petersburg, but severed those ties after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. As the renewed H'ART, the museum now collaborates with the British Museum, the Center Pompidou and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.

The Kandinsky exhibition was made possible thanks to ties with the Center Pompidou in Paris. That museum has one of the largest Kandinsky collections in the world. A large number of works of art are coming to Amsterdam.

With the opening of the H'ART Museum, King Willem-Alexander follows his mother's example. The then Queen Beatrix opened the Hermitage in 2009. Willem-Alexander and Máxima were present.

Primary school children are also involved in the opening. They followed a special education program. Willem-Alexander also speaks with two young artists and meets some employees and sponsors of the H'ART Museum.

King Willem-Alexander reward Richard Krajicek with honour medal

King Willem-Alexander has awarded the Premature Access Palace at Noordeinde Palace to former top tennis player Richard Krajicek. Krajicek received the award for his decades of social commitment through the Krajicek Foundation. The foundation is committed to developing a healthy lifestyle for young people.

The award for prolongance and ingenuity is rarely awarded and is not a royal award as we know it from the annual ribbon rain. The King can grant him himself without involvement of a minister.

In 2023, the honour medal was awarded for the first time in 23 years, then to Sadik Harchaoui, who is 'chef de mission' by Stichting SchldenlabNL. The honourary medal was awarded to the former CEO of Unilever, Floris Maljers.

Other people who were given the medal are former Prime Minister Van Agt and Den Uyl, resistance fighter Bill Minco and architect Pierre Cuypers.

In 1996 he won the Wimbledon title in the single game, which is considered the most prestigious title in tennis. Krajicek has been married to ex-photo model and writer Daphne Deckers (1968) since 1999 and has two children.

King visited helicopter exercise TAC Blaze in the United Kingdom


His Majesty the King visited the TAC Blaze UK helicopter exercise at Carlisle Airport in the United Kingdom on Wednesday, June 19. This exercise by the Defense Helicopter Command focused on training in tactical low flying in the event of a radar threat and avoiding enemy radar systems.

The RAF Spadeadam Range in Northern England has real radar systems that can simulate enemy threats to pilots. Different units and helicopter types train from tactical scenarios. In the training area, which covers approximately 300 hectares, the helicopter crews can train at low altitudes and use self-protection equipment to 'deceive' enemy radar systems. A total of ten Apache combat and Chinook and Cougar transport helicopters, along with an air force detachment of approximately 400 soldiers, are participating in the exercise. In addition, the exercise is supported by air force reservists and soldiers from 11 Air Mobile Brigade.

King Willem-Alexander opened H'ART Museum. The opening was also the start of Kandinsky, the first major exhibition of the renovated museum. H'ART Museum was previously known as the Hermitage.

King Willem-Alexander opened H'ART Museum in Amsterdam together with primary school children.

The King visited the exhibition, which consists of more than sixty works that represent Kandinsky's complete oeuvre. King Willem-Alexander also met employees and sponsors of H'ART Museum.
