MM seems to be more active lately which is nice to see. And she does outdoor events really well, as she always fails to add glamour to the offical ones, even if she is there. What Haakon needed is a sister like Madeleine of Sweden (even though I don't like her) to add a bit of glamour without talking to angels or other supernatural (human) beings at the same time.
Haakon has a two-in-one youth and glam card but it is not used, even when it would be very litle trouble. For Nobel she was living in Oslo and working at a school and Nobel was on a weekend, for the gala dinner for Stortinget she was living in Oslo, and for the danish state visit she had leave from the military and attende the lunch, but not the welcome ceremony or the gala dinner. Three missed oppertunerties where her mother usually looks 60 and frumpy where she could have added some freshness and youth…
The goodwill she got after national day, even from old military people was great, whatever she does or attends get alot of attention in the press and her image is used for lots of articles that has nothing to do with her really, like the goverment increasing military spending and the number of conscripts. And the norwegian monarchy is increasing its popularity in the youngest, supposedly most radical, age group 18-29.
Her mother looks more fresh and glam in denim and boots than in gala…
