I think they are doing well in limiting IA's fancy royal appearances right now. She's got the whole rest of her life to do that. And the awkwardness of Amalia who is pushed into these right now tells me it's a good idea for IA to compete her military obligation and get her higher education without a lot of interruptions. Plus one of IA's ``jobs'' right now is bonding with her age peers, who will be the adults in the room with her when her time to be queen comes up.  If I know anything about my Norskie relatives, it is that we are very very very loyal to each other lifelong, and I'm certainly hoping for the same for IA and her circle of military and college-age peers.

I would agree if she was a shy and uncomfterble person. She is not, she is much like other girls I know who have gone to Elvebakken school (the most difficult school to get in to in general studies), they come out very driven, confident and very well trained in public speaking, so much as you do get impressed and think back at your own uncomfterble teenage self, when public speaking and speech making was not so important in the education.

Attending two or three extra  formal engagements when the education allows it, will not interfere with getting friends I would think, especially the Nobel ceremony which is very important and not so fancy as in Sweden, where Victoria attended since she was 18, and her siblings also. The NRF are at time looking a bit geriatric when they at dinner are represented by two 85 year olds and on 90 year old if Haakon is out of town...but as the recent poll shows, the older the King the more popular....

Maybe they are holding back because IA is not actually the Crown Princess yet. Amalia is the daughter of the King and is clearly next in line. Maybe we should see Christian doing more things since he is the CP of Denmark.

I think that's why they are holding IA back. I'd personally love to see her at some things, but understand if they don't increase that yet.

Victoria was CP for many years already and had to get used to it. Her father was king at a younger age.

That’s hilarious! I haven’t seen anything by Ylvis since that brillant “What Does the Fox Say” video they made a while ago. They are funny, and talented musician to boot. Very impressive,

Here is the Haakon and MM story subtitled for my fellow English speakers https://dai.ly/x6hk3pj

(And just in case anyone here missed it, here’s their fox video! The Norwegian sense of humour is delightful)

A German online report ran a very critical report on Marius a couple of days ago. According to the magazine he earned only 22.000€ a year in 2022 or 2023 (sorry, don't recall, they had his income tax report) but when he sold the house he bought together with his previous girlfriend it was worth about 400.000€.

The magazine had inquired at the court how he was financing the rent of his present 175 square meter house he inhabits, but got on answer. Expensive houses, cars, watches, foreign trips, parties, expensive clothes. Someone must have kept him in a very exclusive lifestyle for years.

Why isn't the Norwegian press exposing & investigating this?  Very frustrating ...

I don't see how that is any of their business, unless his financing come from the proceeds of crime and/or he is evading taxes, the public is not entitled to know.

This has nothing to do with the criminal charges he is facing.

His lifestyle must be funded  by  the  royals, which are funded by taxpayers. If I was a Norwegian citizen I would also want some answers.
