I am beginning to appreciate how boring royal coverage is without Kate. She brought so much grace and elegance, and so many interesting fashion ideas in recent years that her absence is very much conspicuous.

I know she will take as long to recover as she and her doctors think is necessary, but I think I’m feeling quite Kate deprived. And now that Charles is back in circulation again, her absence is all the more notable. I am hoping that her lengthy recovery time only means that she is being particularly prudent and not that her illness is much more serious than originally suspected.

It seems it is just not you, social media is full of  AI generated images of her and they show up in my feed and I thing oh there is a new photo and she looks so healthy and then see her with som made up jewellery and you realise it is fake…🫣 The attention she will get when she returns will be massive, its clear Daily fail and company is missing her dearly.

I think given the horrendous rumours and conspiracy theories surrounding Kate over the last few months (that are *still* circulating on social media) Kate's return will be some time after her treatment and recovery may have finished. If she doesn't look perfect when she does return to public life the media and trolls will be even more horrrifc, such as commenting on weight loss, any shorter hairstyles, looking paler than usual.

So many dream of marrying a Prince and getting to live in a castle. Sadly, as Kate and many other married-ins have experienced, that fairytale is far from a reality and not without its major lifestyle changes. I don't envy any of them (except when they get to wear tiaras ofc!).

So much is unknown at present, except that she is having some form of treatment for whatever cancer she is suffering from.

We know not how long her treatment cycles last, and how many cycles she will ultimately have. We also don't know exactly what or how - pills, injections, IV's, radiation or something else all together.

Whatever is happening they've managed to keep it under wraps, so good on them and all that are involved.

For Kate I wish minimal discomfort and side effects, and the strength to bear them. For the family I wish peace, comfort and a freedom from intrusion.

For all of us wishing her well and missing her, I wish patience.  Smiley

She indicated adjuvant chemotherapy in her speech.

Cycles are typically 2–3 weeks between sessions. And a course of chemotherapy can usually have 4–8 cycles. Each cycle usually is harder on the body than the last.

Hopefully she's given proper time to recover even after her last cycle in order to return to good strength before resuming public duties.

Those details are nobody’s business, as you put it so well in the bolded part.

I have workmates who have passed through it and I found out only some time after, they didn’t want to share/need to have to manage it publicly.

As for when she’ll be back, when I’ve seen her video I gave it at least a year. That’s how long it took another workmate to lose the scarf after chemo. We don’t know what type of treatment they are giving her, but if it affects her hair, that was my standard.

I agree, we may not see her until next year.
