April 11Joachim & Marie participated in National Pet DayPrincess Marie has taken a sweet photo of Prince Joachim with the family dog Cerise, which was shared on the occasion of the USA's National Pet Day. Thus, they shared a beautiful picture of the family's cute Bichon Frise, Cerise, who sits safely on Prince Joachim's lap in the family car. National Pet Day takes place every year on April 11 to encourage people to appreciate the important role that pets play in their lives. People are encouraged to appreciate their pets a little extra on the special day. At the same time, a focus is created on the animals that need a little more attention and, for example, live in animal shelters. It is believed that 80 million households in the United States have pets. Cerise moved in with the princely family in 2019. Before that, the family had the dog Apple, which Princess Marie took with her when she moved to Denmark.

https://www.washingtonpos...6/prince-joachim-denmark/No new news, really. Just an interview with Joachim and Marie. They do talk about the title situation a little bit. The pull quote was “We weren’t happy about the way it happened,” Marie said. “But it’s a family thing. It’s complicated.” The (not so) subtlest of shade thrown at the family.

ANDREW DENTON: Yes. What did... When you first met, what did you see in each other? CROWN PRINCE FREDERIK: What did we see in each other? We saw... Well, it's a bit hard. It's a bit blurry, in a way, because it was just after the Olympics had started and it was one of those evenings where...

Both? It's nice to see the family resemblance in Athena. I see Joachim and Henrik's face in her which is replicated some in Izzy's face.

I imagine life is better away and free from Marge and her destructive selfishness.

August 9Joachim & Marie attend Medina concertFor the past few weeks, Joachim, 55, and Marie, 48, have been holidaying at Château de Cayx in Cahors with Count Henrik, 15, and Countess Athena, 12. Here, they have also spent time with Joachim's sons, Count Nikolai, 24, and Count Felix, 22, and their girlfriends, Benedikte Thoustrup, 25, and Mie Sofia Elers, 23. On Friday, the princely couple attended a concert in Tivoli. Here you could see a very enthusiastic Marie singing along to many of the big hits, while Joachim lovingly held her. The princely couple also got an audience with the pop queen backstage, where they partied with Medina and her band members.

I love that the Schacks seem to be living their best lives away from the DRF after their rough treatment from Marge and the Royal Court.

Been following (but not commenting) on this topic for a while. Watching the ups and downs of their treatment by the family. Kept thinking there's a hidden agenda by the crown with this couple to keep them from taking too much attention away from heirs on subjects & activities that never interested the heirs. Was it a back-handed way of giving them their 'freedom' from the family? They do seem happier and more content now. IMO

Margarethe was ruthless but in one action she both made room for Fred’s family to take center stage (and then later she abdicated the stage to them) and she also gave Joachim's family the freedom to arrange their lives to suit themselves, without obligation to the crown. I’m so happy they look like they are thriving.
