The past months have been extraordinary. The actions of individual members of the Royal family have brought into question the judgement of the King and Queen, the Crown Prince and Crown Princess, and other family members.

What’s next?

1. The people of Norway held a referendum in 1905 regarding retaining a monarchy or becoming a republic.  Would such a referendum be desirable today?
2. If the monarchy is in true danger of being abolished, what steps could or should be taken for them to save themselves?
3.  Should this family of Royals be “saved”, or is an option to select another family or family branch that has less stain be considered?
4. How should the issue of errant family members be addressed?
5. Are these issues being seriously discussed among the Norwegian people?

The degree of degradation is remarkable and I’d like to know what my fellow RD-ers think.

Very interested in Norwegians thoughts of the future.

JMO I feel for Harald & Sonia, they seem kind people, Haakon made a disasterous choice in consort and his weakness is biting his a@@, MM should be in a cell next to Marius and the future queens path forward is going to be tough.

My google page is suddenly full of MM "feel good" videos.  The palace is paying a lot of money trying to change the subject!
