I think William should wait a few years, 24 is young to marry nowdays, on the other hand I would love to see it happen very soon to knock that prententious princess Mares off the pages of the glossy mags.
Love to see her try and compete with Kate.

Clarence House today refused to comment on his plans to marry, saying: "Prince William has no plans to get engaged."

Dont sound they get married.

I think they'll get married.  The British royal family is a family that refuses to be drawn into making announcements before it suits them.  Everything is "11th" hour with them; they are very methodical with how they handle engagements and pregnancy announcements.  Everything is about polish and prestige.  When this announcement comes, and I believe it will come, everyone will claim to be caught by surprise.  While everyone suspects it, the Brits want it to be their party on their terms.  Kate looks very happy and very secure.  She knows it is only a matter of time.  Really, with Harry going off to war, it would be a good thing for Wills to marry and have an heir.  Both Will and Kate know that once they marry, a baby will be expected posthaste.  The Queen was pregnant with Charles shortly after marriage, as was Diana.  Lucky for Kate she is already 25 and not a mom yet.  When Diana was her age, William was almost 5.  When you least expect it, expect it [an engagement].

I wish he would wait.  I don't mind him marrying Kate, but it should be in his own time.  And of course I wouldn't mind if he did not marry Kate.

To be honest, until last year, I didn't think these two would marry.
But now...with Kate being present at official events (William's passing-out parade comes to my mind), and as RaeMi pointed out, the happiness and poise she is currently showing really could mean a lot of things... Thinking

Exactly. In 1947, they denied Elizabeth and Philip's engagement until TWO DAYS before the official announcement came.... Wink

There is a big article about it in today's "Observer".  We learn that "Those close to Kate say she believes herself to be a prize catch. 'He's lucky to have me,' she is said to have responded to friends impressed by the romance."   Whistle

Honestly- she and her mother have planned this. It is bad enough having European royals marrying wacky commoners now we may have to put up with it.  Thumb down

I agree, Avise.  I think she is absolutely desperate to marry him.   Whistle

Obviously she's desperate since she has put her life on hold for him since she graduated.  If it's true, he is not ready for marriage; is she just going to be waiting around?  You would think that if it's not soon that they may start to grow apart, etc.  The grass always looks greener and then you know what happens when you get it!   Laugh bounce

I agree DWI - but I rather think the Family is on Kate's side and hence keeping her so protected....but W is surely too young to marry at his age...this is just my conjecture.
