That weird photo is only the second one I've seen of him throughout the whole wedding.
He looks like he's clinging onto her as he's "claimed his trophy". She looks like realisation has set in that she will be sleeping with a man twice her age for however many years to come and is shuddering in horror.
I don't understand the concept of weddings as statements of wealth or fashion. My single self has always thought a wedding should be a joint celebration of love between two people, and the focus of the occasion should be that love.
I think they see the wedding entirely different. For them weddings are also social events. One exception was Bea who cut it down to bare minimum (due to Covid and other reasons). And it goes beyond that. It was a clever merging of personal interests (the wedding and in the best case love) and marketing (which was also the reason Wills and Kate stayed well away because they would have been instrumentalized if they wanted or not).
Also normal brides have 500+ pictures taken and they use the best. Why all of a sudden use a photo that looks like a clumpsy teenie picture for Insta-attention when you have a brand like Dolce and G in your back? It is part of the game. People will notice the contrast and start comparing and discussing = aim reached, you enlarge the PR and raise interest to follow up - are they okay? How are they doing?
