That's really interesting. Mary does seem to be the odd one left out having been not been chosen more often as a godmother. How about Cristina and Elena - do they have m/any godchildren?

Cristina and Elena are only godmothers of the kids of their Greek cousins. Cristina is godmother of one of Alexia's daughter, Elena is godmother of Pavlos's daughter Olympia and Alexia's son. Maybe also Bulgarian kids who live in Madrid, but I'm not sure.

And isn´t also Elena godmother to one of Christina´s children? And what is with friends?

In Mary´s defence...she is now not sooo long on stage to have been really a choice for many. It would have been difficult to make enough contacts to have been chosen for the babies of 2005. Only Sverre would have been a possibility (with lousy Fred, who didn´t attend IA´s baptism, I wouldn´t have chosen his wife for nr.2 either) and maybe Carlos.
As real godmum possibility, I would only see Ariane, Amelia, Leonore and Eleonore. So not soooo many. I´d say, if she wouldn´t become godmum to the 5th pseudoroyal greek baby...not to Nicholaos child(ren), not to Marie´s child(ren)...not to the offspring of the young Bernadottes...not to Carina´s baby/ies...not to an other Berleburg child...then one could really speak of "being left out"...

Yes. I thought Maria meant the royals of other houses. Now the royals don't marry each other, they no longer use marriages to turn countries into allies. So if they click, they become friends, if not, they probably don't push hard either.

What a beautiful and elegant family. The children were look so well behaved and I love they way they were involved in the Baptism. Angel
Victoria looked gorgeous but what a sourpuss, maybe she is sick of being godmother or doesn't like catholics.
Were there any members of the Dutch royal family there? because I thought they were quite close Thinking

Victoria looks stunning to me.  That dress is perfect on her.

Victoria has a much better body than Mary ...

I love where they took the formal photos - the room may be very plain but I think that was the intention to bring out the lovely, lovely view from the outside.

Victoria looked great!  Her outfit does wonders for her!  Whoever is the designer of this outfit, I hope Victoria will use his/her designs more often.

Mathilde as always looked so poised and elegant - ever the personification of the perfect princess.  Funny though, I don't think she even tries to be one!  She just seems to go about her business and being so sweet and charming.
