The 1950s and the 1980s are back.

With a vengeance! Did they all raid their closets for relics? Did Sophs and Zara find ribbing in the vaults they just had to use? The top half of Soph's dress resembles a uniform.

I wonder if Zara is wearing whats comfortable since she is still post part in and some outfits might not fit as well as she’d hope.

It would be great to see the queen there.

For anyone who listens to the commentary there is a reference to a man named 'Mikey' I am surprised he is at Ascot and not Southampton as I would have expected him to be at the World Test Championship Final for cricket. His name is Michael Holding was one of the greatest fast bowlers of the game. He played for the West Indies in the 70s-80s and was a joy to watch, but not necessarily to face. He would also have been presented to The Queen a number of times in his career as a player as she used to attend the Lords Test each year and meet the players but that tradition has fallen away in more recent years, although she has sometimes had a reception for the teams at BP.

Just a note - when Philip used to go to the races with her he was often not seen - as he was inside watching the cricket which was his preference. No doubt if he were still alive he would be watching the test (as I am on the other side of the world)

I’m so thrilled to see the Queen at Ascot today and looking so much better than yesterday’s Order of the Garter photo with Charles and Camilla.  That was such horrible lighting and she looked waxy and confused.

Is the Queen there today? The royal reporters were saying she wasn’t going to attend.
