Amazing hat - I don't think the dress does it justice

I thought this was Lady Louise at first glance!!

I loved Kate's look even though I hate brown anything. I thought she looked fresh and chic. And I was glad it wasn't another silly fascinator on her head.

I also liked the fact that she and William were so busy with what seemed like important engagements that they were only able to attend today. It made them seem a lot less frivolous and a lot more modern working royals who had better things to do that be paraded around a race track.

Lindsay looks lovely! I don’t like the end of the sleeves though.

It looks like she's wearing a version of the Beulah (I think) dress that Beatrice and Sophie wore to one of the Jubilee events.  Definitely agree on the end of the sleeves!   Thumb down

Otherwise she does look very pretty.

They will have plenty of Ascot duties in the future, so being there for only one day works for now. Not only were they attending to weightier matters but they were very front and center all during the Jubilee, so having some other members of the family fill in the rota was fine.

I think we might see Kate turn up in her outfit from PP's Memorial service in future years. It was made for Ascot.

The dress does look a lot the Buelah one, the sleeves are different and no collar, but still.

I'm in the minority, but I actually like the whole thing. Brown is a color she doesn't wear often, so branching out there. She has the svelte body to pull off polka dots with the frippery extras on the dress, a win there. I like the hat, it's a little quirky without being silly, win. Her hair's up, another win.

Does it blow me out of the water? No. But I like it.

It's a heckuva lot better than the other royal ladies' trainwrecks the last couple of days.

I like it also.

From a distance Kate looks so elegant, but this close-up of her makeup is  Clown

She needs to tone down the heavy matte brown eyeshadow and match her undertones (warm eye makeup, cool lipstick).  I am glad she's finally started wearing color on her lips, though!

CF -Beulah indeed

Yahvi Beulah London in blush with a bespoke hat from Justine Bradley Hill. Lindsey also carried a white clutch and wore glittery blush heels.

I like what Kate wears, even though looks so not appropriate for such temperatures!
She is very elegant without overshadowing anyone.

I don't know why they didn't attend the previous days, apologies if it's already mentioned here, but I had the impression that they didn't want to be "too much" in the front line because both Will and Kate did such a great job in the Jubilee so now they have shifted in other events, more serious, less fun, just to not create the image of people who have fun and not working enough.
I also think that this period got too long and maybe a bit confused, my english teacher woudn't be happy  Tongue

The Cambridge's aren't really into horse racing and normally only attend on one day during the five day carnival - just like Charles and Camilla now only attend on two days (I can remember when they only attended one day as well ... although I seem to remember Camilla attending without Charles). Camilla loves horse racing, as do Anne, Mike and Zara but most of the others are there for the 'duty' side of it and aren't that interested in the event itself. Philip was famous for insisting on having a TV on in the royal box showing the cricket as he would have preferred to be at that sporting event rather than the horse races as well.

The ones Diana was wearing are not the same as the ones Kate is wearing.

They look very similar except the pearl is smaller.

Different size, different drop, AND completely different attachment (I don’t know the term).  I much prefer Kate’s!

They're the same, the pendant pearls are from another pair of earrings. https://www.thecourtjewel...s-for-kate-at-baftas.html The version with the smaller pearls suits Kate's more delicate style. Thanks for the photos, Peeds, I noticed the earrings right away.

Looks like possibly different pearl "drops", smaller ones which I have to say look more elegant IMO.
