I don’t think I’ve ever seen a picture of her smiling like this. These look like genuine smiles.

She’s really a very beautiful young woman.

Yes, Kako usually looks terrified in pictures, but here she looks very happy and confident, bravo.

The half-fringe hair-style is a bit strange.

Kako looks good in this official visit. I'm glad she was trusted to do it. It must be a welcome change to be a few days away from the Imperial agency.

That does look weird, someone wasn't paying attention or thinking...

Perhaps it is the hairstyle but to me she comes across a bit as a uncertain young deer looking into the headlights of a car. While I think she is certainly capable of such a visit  Thumb up

I think the Japanese royal ladies are generally kept shy, meaning it is appropriate for them to not be overpowering.

Kako did very well.  Thumb up

Naruhito and Masako certainly can't do everything alone. It's nice to see the family helping out, minus Fumihito of course.

Love her outfit she wore to meet the Chancellor of Austria but really hate how she does her fringe where she sweeps away one section.

the second day of their visit to Ibaraki Prefecture, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako visited Hitachi to watch the National Sports Festival's table tennis competition held at Ikenokawa Sakura Arena. Afterwards, The Emperor and Empress visited popular resort Kokumin-shukusha Unomisaki and then visited Hitachi City's Forestry Research Institute's tree breeding center. After these visits, The Emperor and Empress returned to Tokyo by the Imperial train.
