the second day of their visit to Ibaraki Prefecture, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako visited Hitachi to watch the National Sports Festival's table tennis competition held at Ikenokawa Sakura Arena. Afterwards, The Emperor and Empress visited popular resort Kokumin-shukusha Unomisaki and then visited Hitachi City's Forestry Research Institute's tree breeding center.  After these visits, The Emperor and Empress returned to Tokyo by the Imperial Train.

They must be the last royalty in the world to have their own train.  Nice!!

This will be the only big royal event this year. Let us hope for a tiara event. Too bad that Camilla isn't going to attend.  Sad
I hope the disgusting Thai king will stay away and send his sister.

They haven't confirmed yet, but I suppose Alois and Sophie for Liechtenstein and Albert for Monaco.

I bet Rania and Abdullah will go from Jordan and would love to see Moulay Hassan from Morocco as the King is obviously quite ill.

Would a non-ruling house like Greece attend this type of event? Mostly asking because M-C would maybe pull out the big gun if there was a chance for tiaras and I’d love to see it again...

Every time I see a photo of Masako-sama these days, it makes me happy because it's so clear she's come into her own. She's earned all the happiness that seems to be flowing from her these days.
