Well, here we are having another hot spell. The weather report predicts 85 degrees (29.4 Celsius) tomorrow. Just when I thought I could start wearing sweaters again here in northern California. Oh well, at least we had a little rain earlier this week which will cut down somewhat on forest-fire danger, I hope.

Tiny bit of fall feeling in the air tonight in Southeastern US. Low of 59. Fall is my favorite season.

We've had perfect Pacific NW late summer weather, overcast in the morning with beautiful, clear blue skies and whispy clouds in the evening. We've had wildfire smoke so the sunsets have been gorgeous. But it's been so dry, we only had less than a quarter inch of rainfall this month and half of what we normally get in July. We could use a good rain to knock down the smoke and green up the grass.

I live in the southeastern US and it’s going to be low teens to single digits here. The ‘high’ tomorrow is 23! Completely unacceptable! I just walked the dogs and told them to enjoy it because it will not be happening for the next few days!

Cloudy, 7 degrees F for Friday's high and 10 degrees on Saturday. Steady winds of 20-35 mph, gusts as high as 50-60mph. I don't mind the cold, snow and wind but just hope we don't lose power.

A bit of sloppy snow/rain, mid 30's F in mid-state NY. Might be icy tonight ... but only rain is predicted for tomorrow which is a relief to me.

I live in the southeastern US and it’s going to be low teens to single digits here. The ‘high’ tomorrow is 23! Completely unacceptable! I just walked the dogs and told them to enjoy it because it will not be happening for the next few days! We must be regional neighbors! I just refilled the bird feeders, wrapped my outside faucets, and made a breakfast pizza to enjoy all day tomorrow with an endless french press of coffee and non-stop Christmas movies! (And may I say, the breakfast pizza turned out GREAT! )

High overcast this morning that broke up around noon in my part of northern California. The sky looked like a Turner painting. I went out to look at birds at the former Alameda Naval Air station and saw four great blue herons wading in a lagoon, two red-beaked oystercatchers on the jetty, multiple cormorants fishing, and a pair of little bufflehead ducks having an apparent spat. One brown pelican sailed across the former seaplane lagoon, pretending to be a swan.
We don't have any rain coming for at least a week and our temperatures will be in the high 50s, maybe even hitting the 60s on Christmas Day. I know we are so lucky compared to the rest of the US, which is in for a devastating weekend. So glad I don't have to travel anywhere, although a friend and I will head out to the ocean on Christmas Eve -- Golden Gate National Recreation Area -- to look for raptors and the odd seabird.
