Oh well, then there's northern California. My freesias are blooming their heads off, the trumpet vine is bursting into bloom, my geraniums are already hard at work, the nasturtiums look like they're about to overtake the universe, my gingko tree is just leafing out with brilliant chartreuse leaves and I see the first buds on my so-fragrant Cecile Brunner pink climbing rose.  Just had what I think was the last big rain of the season and everything is newly washed and brilliant. And when I sit in my open front door to admire the garden, the fragrance of the pink jasmine encircles me. Should get up to 70 degrees today. And everywhere the hills are so lush that they look like they are upholstered in green velvet.

The tall building is the Koutoubia Mosque, also called the Kutubiyya Mosque

Beautiful pictures Rita, thanks for sharing.  Smiley I am curious to know what the red flowering bushes/trees are?

The big walls of Marrakech, it’s a defensive structure surround the old medina with big gates,my grandfather father used to tell me that Marrakech was only the old medina and the gates close once the night fall for sécurity

Those gorgeous trees could be frangipani-trees or bougainvilla? They are beautiful.

Thanks for sharing the pictures! Marrakesch is a beautiful city, you're lucky to live there.

Many years ago I went on a 2 week trip to Marocco, we visited Fez, Rabat, Casablanca and Essaouira and certainly your city, in the second week we took a bus thru the Atlas mountains and visited many small agricultural villages . It was a wonderful and impressive trip.

We have had the worst of late spring - it is freaking cold and it has been raining incessantly.
So much so that the whole south of the country is somewhat flooded - some areas worse than others, but to some extent there is way too much water everywhere. The woods where I walk my dogs is not particularly hilly, but still the ground is so wet and drenched that quite a lot of trees got up rooted since since on slopes the running water just washes out the soil.
Anyway, thinking of the poor people whose houses are under water -  Hug

Storms early this morning, then big puffy tall clouds sliding across the sky. 82 degrees (28C), very light variable wind in afternoon. Walked 5 miles [8 km] through two adjacent land preserves, one a prairie, the other a woods. Watched a pair of eagles doing acrobatics over the prairie. Saw 2 red foxes taking a drink from the creek in the woods, young red tail hawks taking turns gliding over the trail criss-crossing from tree branch to tree branch, rabbits at trail edge grass watching me walk, birds chattering in the low tree branches in the woods. Was passed by people taking dogs for a walk: yellow labrador retriever, fox hound, beagle, vizsla, corgie (unusual here), golden retriever, and a jogger running with a greyhound ;-) .  There is a water pump in both places and walkers were 'wearing' their collapsible water dishes on their belt or belt loop. Was a very pleasant walk and ... I was able to see lots of dogs, allowed to pet a few (I always ask). A good walk.
