Out of interest does she really have her own PR team and do they really focus on the Aus and UK press?

Certainly she seems to appear in the DM far too much for it all to be because they find her interesting.

Yes and yes.  She hired them sometime around 2010-2011, IIRC.

Yes and her name is Josephine Rechner. She handles Mary's Aussie PR pro bono, and Mary made her a Godmother to a Royal Danish Princess in exchange. Or at least that's what some of us think.

Yup ^^

It started out as project PR in 2011 > Crown Princess Mary has asked the advertising agency McCann Copenhagen for help in branding of her social projects in the Mary Foundation.

The Crown Princess is a pro bono client, which means that McCann Copenhagen helps Mary Foundation without getting paid.
- For us as an agency is Mary Foundation an incredibly exciting business partner, working professional, committed and determined to overcome social isolation. The objective we want to take responsibility for the pro bono partner - and as humans, says CEO of McCann Copenhagen, Morten Ingemann.

His agency has also several employees who have had the pleasure to work with the Crown Princess and her fund branding and communications. For employees, it is a particular pleasure to be able to resume cooperation with Crown Princess Mary and her social projects that they consider to be both professional and dynamic drive.

Once they started to take over the "project branding", they turned to the "Princess Mary branding"!

Then Josephine Rechner came out of nowhere on the scene in Denmark at the christening of Josie > One of Princess Mary's most discreet and supportive friends, Josephine Rechner, has been rewarded for her loyalty by being named a godmother of one of the Danish royal's twins.
The Melbourne-based public relations consultant, along with the princess's sister Patricia Bailey, were named as godmothers of Josephine Sophia Ivalo Mathilda at a ceremony in Copenhagen yesterday.

It is not believed the baby princess was named after Rechner. Elegant blonde Rechner, a mother of two young sons, works several days a week with Q Strategies in Collingwood. Rechner first met the Princess when the former Mary Donaldson was living in Melbourne and dating Brent Annells - also a public relations executive - in the 1990s. They became fast friends and stayed buddies after Mary's relationship with Annells ended.

Rechner remained a close confidante after Mary met Prince Frederik at the Sydney Olympics, attending the Melbourne Cup with the couple in 2002, and was among the Aussie contingent at the couple's fairytale wedding in Copenhagen in 2004. She attended the christening of Mary's other children, Prince Christian and Princess Isabella, and was one of a handful of Melbourne mates the princess dined privately with at Flower Drum when in town in 2008. While other pals of the princess are vocal about their royal connection, Rechner has never spoken of her famous mate.

It is said that her agency is the PR firm Mary has working for her the OZ visits. Behind the scenes they arranged for the interviews with the Mary fans, also paid for most of the flowers presented to Mary on her outings, and if you watch old videos closely, none of the citizens gave Mary anything but a florist job bouquet, no kid turned up to curtsy without a new outfit, no hand picked flowers from their own gardens like the Brits would receive.

Thank you for this Pede! I was looking for this earlier and couldn't find it. It sums up this shadiness beautifully. ⭐️

Here is Mary's PR in action - the article SHOULD be about Princess Isabella's 10th birthday portraits, but noooo. Instead its a complete fabrication of how the beautiful Isabella is looking increasingly like her Mother!!! Even the child's birthday and looks are mis-appropriated by her scheming mother!

^ Fred, you know, the actual heir to the throne, is not important to the Queen Mary Now Campaign. Or to Mary herself.

Nor does he need his own PR.

Actually, none of the other CPs have their own PR (separate from the PR that serves their royal families).   Can you imagine the sh*tstorm if Letizia did this?

Speaking of Mosh's PR Wink For the next few weeks the Aussie press will be in overload what with Princess Charlotte's birthday and Pippa's wedding having both George and Charlotte in the bridal party, and who knows Kate might just be included as well? Wink

Something big needs to be done to keep Mosh in the spotlight. Those poor dears must be in burnout trying to cope. Just wondering what will they come up with? Will Marge abdicate on cue? Just to Keep Mosh happy and back in the spotlight.

Mary "Can't Get No Satisfaction."

Her Crown Princess peers Maxima, Mathilde, Letizia  -->  Queens

Diana  -->  Queen of People's Hearts
Then, Alexandra  -->  Nordic Diana
Now, Rania  -->  Queen of Hearts

The fact that they are featured in publications other than No Idea or Daily Fail must rankle her a little.

Granted she has appeared in some publications other than those two rags, but they're not Time magazine, or Sunday Times, or newspapers of note. In fact, isn't it just a few months ago that Wikipedia updated their policy of not accepting Daily Mail as credible source anymore? Poor Mary anyway. Queen of bottom-feeding tabloids. I sometimes feel for her. She hustles.

LOOOL, not gonna happen for Yrma  Thumb up

Our monarchs must be worn out

Unlike several other European countries, there is no historical tradition in Denmark that the monarch abdicates, and the current turmoil about the royal house will not change it, says historian Lars Hovbakke.

Last week's announcement of Prince Henrik's dementia disease will undoubtedly once again trigger speculation about whether Queen Margrethe 2nd Mon wants to abdicate.

In Denmark, however, there is no tradition for the head of state to abdicate! And since the Queen is very historically conscious and very responsible, much needs to be done before she breaks the tradition.

The latest Danish example that a ruler has left the throne before his death is when Christian 2. in 1523 had to flee from the country in connection with a rebellion against him.

And the latest example of a head of state voluntarily abdicated is Erik 3rd, who in 1146 decided to resign as a king to instead go to a monastery. In other words, almost 900 years ago, a king of his own free will is abdicated.

In recent years, in both the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and Spain, we have seen examples of monarchs that are abdicated. But here the tradition is also different.

In Holland, which first became a kingdom in 1806, five out of the seven heads of state, which the country has had since this time, abdicated. Among others the last three queens: Wilhelmina (in 1948), Juliana (in 1980) and Beatrix (in 2013).

Belgium became the first independent state in 1830 and the kingdom of 1831. Here two out of six kings abdicated, most recently King Albert 2 in 2013.

Well can't we crown Mary "Pricilla, Queen of the desert"?
Asma al-Assad was the rose in the desert and I think the title has been removed, so it should be available.... Whistle
