There're apps and programmes to download that do the resizing for you. You only have to be aware that you can either change the size of the picture (meaning some part will be cut of) or you can reduce the quality (meaning it will have less mb size, but the quality will be worse).

Doing both is not possible (retaining quality and size)

Many times I do not see pictures - but only blank spaces in a post. Today in the Lux thread and yesterday about the Diana statue,  and always the Greek thread.

I try Chrome, Edge, IE and it makes no difference.

Some of that could be due to your browser (DDGo does that too many times) or antivirus/firewall programs block it. If the source url doesn't start with https or uses an image format that's not supported the browser fails to display it. The AV and firewall programs have settings that are restrictive by default and you may have to change some settings. For that you'll need to check the support pages of the programs' web site.

There are certain sites I don't visit anymore because their image source servers are on lists of known malware repositories.

If you're using a file blocker program (a plug-in for your browser) that blocks ads, floating boxes, & other intrusive web displays it could be that it is blocking the web site imgur.com and you may have to put that in your exception list to see the photos of Stephanie & the baby on those Lux pages for example.

I'm quoting myself from the ML of Norway's thread if others need the explanation about posting pics :

I remember it had been already explained somewhere but I don't know where on the forum.

Hi!  Welcome Donkey  Champagne

I've never mastered posting pics (sorry no help)  for linking article (I'm on computer not laptop) go to address bar, right click (it should highlight) hit "copy".  Come to your post, right click "paste:.  It should link.  I'm sorry if that is clear as mud.  I'm not much help. sorry  Blink

Can someone teach me how to post pics?

The code to post picture is this : [ img] (without the spaces I added so it displays here), you can either write with your keyboard or, just chick the button with the photo on it (just under the I button). Then you add the URL of the picture between the two img codes.

[ img]URLpicture   <-- without any spaces.

The URL to use is not the one of the web page (except if you opened the picture in its own window), but the URL of the picture : to obtain it, click right button of your mouse on the picture you want to share, and in the options that display, choose 'copy the URL of the picture/image', then you can paste the link/URL like explained before.

The pictures's URLs often end by (or have in the URL) : .gif  or  .jpg  or  .png

For info, some web pages don't allow to copy/paste URL of pictures like Instagram.

I hope I'm clear enough, that's not easy to explain by writing, and my computer is in French, so I tried to translated my best.

***

For example, you want to share the first picture in this article : https://www.dailymail.co....ceived-DEATH-THREATS.html

The URL of the first picture is : https://i.dailymail.co.uk...ge-m-43_1637366492145.jpg  (click right copy the URL of the picture/image)

[ img]https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2021/11/20/00/50727425-10223075-image-m-43_1637366492145.jpg  <-- I let the spaces so it displays.

And without the spaces, the picture will display when you click the "Preview" and "Post" buttons :
