I am as impressed with her as anyone...but there's sth I don't understand.  Malaysia has a kind of rotating monarchy, I believe...so how does a Crown prince fit in.../   Thinking, wear, do you know?

i will have to research on that Macaw. honestly, i mostly just look at pictures of the royalty in this area because their names are difficult to remember. in this case, i am fascinated by the bride and groom's educational and career backgrounds.

here is the explanation,Macaw. so i think, Raja Muda Nazrin is the crown prince of the sultanate of perak. he will succeed his father as sultan, then he will be one of the 9 sultans to be elected king in his time.

i actually like their system. it's like, they get representative of all the royal houses (in this case sultanates), then elect the king. this system seems like it's gonna last longer since the loyalty of the people is maintained by each ruling family in the state.

this reminds me of Princess Mathilde's role, she has connection in both the Wallon and the Flemish regions of Belgium, therefore, she glues the nation together. the flemish, however much they dislike the monarchy, there must be some people there who like the idea that their future queen has connection to them too.

She is a beautiful woman. Her husband seems very boring and a lot older. Did he marry before ?

Unfortunately it is not Mathilde's role to unite the Flemings and Walloons. That role lies squarely on Philippe's shoulders as future King of all Belgians. With some of the political statements he has made plus some controversy on the trade missions to South Africa, he may not have an easy time doing so.
