Marie has a new patronage it seems. This year on the 4th of September she will open the Wadden Sea Festival:

http://www.dr.dk/Regioner...erg/2010/08/05/072422.htm

When Wadden Sea Festival opens on Saturday 4th September will be the royal presence of the Princess Marie.

The Princess is patron of the Wadden Sea Festival 2010 and participate in the official opening of the literature Arrangement "At Sea "on Lakolk beach on Romo .
- It is a great recognition that we achieve local royal backing , says Lisbet Rosendahl, who is chairman of the cultural region Wadden Sea Steering Committee. She believes that Princess Marie's participation will ensure that more people become aware of the Wadden Sea Festival and will want to visit the events.

Here is a link to the Festival website: http://www.vadehavsfestiv...l.dk/Program/Program.aspx

The DRF took Marie's patronages off the official DFR website - dunno what that's about  Snare

Thanks Maria  Thumb up

When I opened it with the "English" tab it didn't show for me. I guess I have to go in on the Danish language tab.

I've changed the title of the thread to avoid to start a new thread every time she will receive a new one (yeah, I know, she does not have a lot, but they seem coming in now)

So, here they are:

• Wadden Sea Festival
• Copenhagen Jewellery Fair and Bella Nordic Jewellery Award
• Denmark Ski
• The Danish National Commission for UNESCO
• Prix littéraire des Ambassadeurs
• Tønder Festival

Thanks for the info PeDe. Thumb up

As many of us had speculated in the past it seems the DRF are creating a distinction between the two princesses; Mary got all the health/social causes while Marie will be focusing on cultural events/causes.

Personally I think it's a bad move especially now Mary is pregnant and will be off for some time with maternity leave etc. Those causes will end up with little publicity for quite some time as their patron is away. I hope the DRF sends Marie to some events on Mary's behalf but I cannot see this happening.

I don't think that this conference on "Child Poverty and social exclusion", organized by BRIDGE Denmarkis such a small cultural cause though, I've roamed the internet for a bit and this subject will attract increasing attraction.

So there might be some more to do for Marie on a much bigger scale.

Remember when she became the patron for the Danish National Commission for UNESCO; little later she went to the headquarters to Paris to learn more about it. So maybe the upcoming conference will be something similar...who knows...maybe she'll become involved with UNICEF

She has the brains and the languages to show for (Danish, English, Spanish, Italian and French)

I didn't realise she was attending a conference on child pverty, when is it?

It would be great if she became involved with UNICEF!

Aww, thank you. It's nice to be back. I will happily stow you away but I'm notoriously bad at over-packing so you might find it a tad uncomfortable- I'm just giving you an advance warning!

Okey dokey! But don't complain when you end up with a stilletto wedged somewhere very uncomfortable!

LS, great to see you back!  Star  Banana

Thanks for the links Pede  Star - And I hope LS' stiletto doesn't get wedged in too far, or you might start adopting some of CP Bugeye's facial expressions!

(And you might then need to adopt a squatting position like this to get the damned thing out!  )
