I actually think Mary has made a strategic error. She will be kept out of the public eye for a further six months, and then it will be a PR risk for her to be seen out and about without her brood.
Meanwhile, Marie will take full advantage of Mary's lull and work hard and go from strength to strength, becoming the darling of the Danes!
I thought too that, during Mary´s absence, Marie would make more public appearences and would get more official duties. Mary´s pregnancy was a very good opportunity for Marie to get more presence and to come out the shadow of Mary. But not. It seems that she has no interest to develop her role in the DRF. It´s very disappointing. Same here for Joaquim. One can think that when Mary dissappears, the whole DRF dissappears with her!

Marie has too many scandals on her head to be taken seriously in Denmark. Just one off her mistakes was to lie about having af business degree and a career as she really hasn't been able to manage anything but breewing coffee in her stepfathers firm. http://avisen.dk/se-og-ho...-hun-var-kaffeb_8257.aspx

Well according to the Association for Autism: very recently, LAfare got an patron - Her Royal Highness Princess Marie - and next year we will go to teach her about ASF, taking her around the country and look at schools, homes and places of employment. Marie expressed the desire to learn as much as she can before starting to represent the association.Almost 4 mnths passed since they've announced it - I wonder when she will make her first appearance

Thanks PeDe! It's nice to see Marie being trusted with more and more events and patronages like this. It says a lot about the DRF's confidence in her

Thanks Pede! Rationales: • 'Nordic Taste' Copenhagen's annual international food festival - not suitable for Mary because it's about food• Copenhagen Jewellery Fair and Bella Nordic Jewellery Award - not suitable for Mary because of "greedy Mary" bad PR• University of Southern Denmark - not suitable for Mary because her professor father is a known sluuuurrrper• Denmark Ski Federation - not suitable for Mary because she can't ski• The Danish National Commission for UNESCO - not suitable for Mary because she would have to run into Haakon• National Association for Autism - not suitable for Mary because she may carry the autism gene• Literary Prix des Ambassadeurs - not suitable for Mary because there is no record of Mary ever reading a book

"She isn´t wearing ANYTHING", said a young child
The empress shuddered, for she knew that they were right, but she thought, "The procession must go on!" She carried herself even more proudly, and the chamberlains walked along behind carrying the train that wasn't there.

I think at the time of Alexandra's divorce Unicef stated that they were very happy to keep her as their patron, but now five years on, it might be the natural thing to look for someone with a higher profile.
I like Alexandra, but imo she should step away from the stage and live a private life. Marie is a completely different person, but she is wife of Joachim now and as such she should have her own place without having to compete with the ghost of the first wife.
I don't see why Alex should give up a patronage she cares about, just because her ex is remarried. She has devoted a lot of time to it, and it likely something she cares deeply for. I don't see why patronages should be part of the divorce settlement IMO. There are thousands of other amazing charities out there Marie could be involved with.

something just popped inot my mind..what ever happened to the Wadden Sea Festival...did they take it away from her, because it's not on her list of patronages anymore Princess opens Wadden Sea Festival - 5th August 2010 07:37 Esbjerg
When Wadden Sea Festival opens on Saturday 4 September will be attended by the Royal Princess Marie.
The Princess is patron of the Wadden Sea Festival 2010 and participate at the official opening by literary event "At Sea" at Lakolk beach on Romo. - It's a great recognition that we achieve local royal backing, says Lisbet Rosendahl, who is chairman of Kulturregion Wadden Sea Steering Committee. She believes, Princess Marie's participation will ensure that more people become aware of the Wadden Sea Festival and will want to visit events.http://www.dr.dk/Regioner...erg/2010/08/05/072422.htmOr was is just for this particulare year?
