I wonder if MT is just at that point of saying hell no, no more dresses. A lot of older women have made this choice and nowadays, with so many dressy pants-- make that trousers for you folks on the other side of the pond -- available, they have no desire and see no need to have to climb into all the dress-related underpinnings. Count me in that number, BTW.

To make her legs visually longer and elongate the silhouette. It is one of those old styling tricks. Kate is doing the same (but also has longer torso than MT and more space to move her waist up :-))
I am doing the same, but still waiting for my "fame at last" moment, so no paps photos available, yet.

I am sure she has a problem with aging and trousers are probably more comfortable. But you don't often see Queen Margarethe, Queen Sylvia, exQueen Beatrix , or Queen Camilla in trousers. And they all look good in their dresses, at least most of the times, plus they all are about 10 years older.

What strikes me recently is her grinning face in public, always that exaggerated smile as if she wants to tell the world how happy she is, that she is such a nice woman and all those bad rumours about her aren't true.

The President and First Lady of Cabo Verde arrived in Lux today for a three-day state visit. MT tested positive for covid yesterday and is isolating.

Although this look may be supposed to help a short-waisted frame I find it deeply unflattering, at least on MT.  She should wear very expertly cut clothing, very simple patterns, and stop with all the layers, the glittery fabrics and low cut or sheer stuff.  For every one good & appropriate appearance there are 10 silly-looking, or worse, tarty, ones.  And could her smile be any more hugely fake?  "I know there's a camera so let me show my teeth" fake?

For years Luxembourg was a minor, secondary realm of the kings of the Netherlands.  When Wilhelmina ascended the throne, the countries split, and Lux went to a junior branch (duke of Nassau).  Before the Dutch, Luxembourg as an independent country of some stature, especially in Medieval times, when it contributed a few Holy Roman Emperors.
