For some reason I believe that the Te Deum dress was Mathilde's idea. I can't believe that a young woman like Elisabeth would choose that. The pink summer dress, that mix of forties war bride and shirt-dress however can be found in many young store like Zara and H&M.

Yummi, indeed...

As for the other dress: For me it be better without the head attire. I think that doesn't do her good.

I am sure that Mathilde and Phil are doing a brilliant job. Mathilde is a very attractive woman - she always dresses as if she 90 years of age. Sadly, she is passing on that style. Their clothes are always a tad too conservative.

Elisabeth's last three National Day lewks:

Totally agree, AB. Looks age appropriate, too. The other two chiffon dresses look dowdy for her age.

Nothing can shade her beauty and freshness!

On another note, in the pics where the kids are phoning people, have you seen the HUGE plant? The mother of all tiny houseplants!

Star to everyone, I needed a pick-me-up when studying for very-important-exam at the age of fifty something.

I love the third dress too! I think she looks great in the other ones as well but agree that they're a little mature whereas this one is both perfect for the occasion and youthful.

Lil's head piece was by Fabienne Delvigne. It suits her!

The head piece suits her. But the whole ensemble, and especially the dress, ages her (very) much in my opinion.

I agree. It is way too old for a young girl like her

I think the problem with the two beige dresses is - well, they are beige. Not a good colour for anyone IMHO. This year's frock is even more beige than that from 2019. If they were shocking pink or electric blue, they'd come across as more youthful. But the black number is definitely my favourite.
