I have to say that Paola is one of the loveliest women of her age I've ever seen. Her beauty has held up without a lot of artifice.

I agree
Absolutely. She has always been a beauty.

Queen Til and Princess Lil spoke to the press at the end of their trip

Some quotes from Lil:

Quote
Both my great-great grandmother & my mother inspire me. My great-great-grandmother because of her sense of adventure & her passion for Egypt. My mama because of her own passion, to listen to other people and make them shine in their own profession... I'm studying History, among other things, at Oxford. It's really important for me to learn about history. For me it's essential to understand the present and the future.

Regarding what she said about her mom (bolded), that is hands-down one of the loveliest things to say about another and in my opinion it is exactly what a royal should do.  Especially one who is the Consort, not the Regnant, but even for the Regnant as well.

It's not for royals to become "experts" in areas or to come up with ideas about how to solve age-old problems.  It's to allow their people to shine. Period.

I love Lil and her appreciation for the importance of history and understanding the past, too, but this quotation really stands out to me in such an impressive way.
