St. Emmeram in Regensburg, owner Fürst Albert II. von Thurn und Taxis
Was a monastery, the TuT bought in 1810 and Jean Baptiste Métivier expanded it to a residence.
Sisis sister Helene lived in the castle until her death 1890.

Princess Gloria opens St. Emmeram every year in July for the "Thurn und Taxis Schlossfestspiele"

Gloria, to her credit, has become quite the business person.  She really pulled the family finances out of a hole upon "Goldie's" death.
I love her wild days, and how she has become more conservative.   Star (in 24, already starred you today) Nice addition Miss Waynfleet.  Does Gloria TnT still have her car collection?

I think she sold it in the auction 1993. I can look at the catalogue.
Thanks for the star  Star

Gloria is indeed a chameleon, good for the family.  Thumb up
I don´t agree with many thinks, but she is one of the few German nobles, who are well known. If I didn´t interested in the DRF, I wouldn´t heard of the Berleburg family.  Smiley

Death room of Princess Helene. Her son Albert I. made a chapel after her death. Glorias children are baptised in the chapel.

So what happened in the death room?  Was it for saying mass and prayers for the dead?  Do you have a picture of Helen's wonderful tea table? (Or maybe it was the Princess before her)

It was so elegant  in lines and simple.

Could you describe the set?
Maybe this one is in one of my books?  Smiley

To the death chamber/room/chapel: mainly prayers for the death, baptisms. For a mess, this would be too small.

Or if you want a new thread. The family was very big.
We have a Habsburg thread. So yes, why not?
