True, even the most hideous men look rather dashing in uniform. Can vouch to that.
An elderly friend of mine once jokingly admitted that the fact that her fiance looked so dashing in his uniform had weighed quite importantly in his favour. Unfortunately she found out that he hardly ever wore it at home, in bed or at all after WWII. But there certainly is something to be said about men and uniforms...

Dashing! That's the word I've been looking for. Wink Or charming, I guess we can say that, even a not so handsome man can look charming in a military uniform. Let's drink to men in uniforms then! Champagne Star (in 24)

Oh, my, how dashing they are...

Thank you, Principessa!  Star

Fun fact: when I was 15, mid-eighties, I had the huge chance to visit an international summer camp here, in Romania. There were Swedish kids, wow!, Dutch kids, double wow!, and all sort of other nations from the other side of the Iron Curtain. The Dutch kids had with them some flyers about the Netherlands and there were pictures of the DRF. Ever since I was fascinated with the three golden boys.

What strikes me when I look at the pictures of the three dutch princes is how WA looked so very young, much younger in fact than his actually younger brothers, who both looked almost middle-aged at their weddings.

Yeah, people age at different rythms and one person does not have a linear rythm for ageing.

IMO Constantijn had a kind of "old appearance" already at a relatively young age. I looks a lot like his maternal grandfather:
