Very much so, considering that Svlvia will be 79 in a week, no woman of that age would ever look like her without "a little help from Botox or facial surgery". Why is she doing this? To please her silly and aldutory husband, who can age like he wants , and nobody cares... Or is it because she was once a beautiful woman and cannot cope with the reality of getting old and losing the beauty of youth?
I notice that almost all beautiful woman cannot cope with losing their good looks when aging and feel the need to have surgery. Whereas woman who never were a real beauty don't feel the need to do this, such as Beatrix of the Netherlands, Sophia of Spain, Margarethe of Denmark, Camilla of GB,  maybe there are more examples.
Not that I condemn them for doing it, but I really have more respect for women, royal or movie stars, who just accept the reality of life and stay strong. Beauty is not the essence of life, there are so many other more important issues that really count.

I think the late Queen also eschewed cosmetic procedures. And she aged very well. I like the looks of all the elder female royals who have let the years leave their marks. And I feel sorry for those who haven't.

I think Silvia always felt a lot of pressure: She had to pretend she was happily married while her husband was cheating on her, she had to pretend she was having a great family life while her children (especially Victoria) was suffering, she had to be 120% at her job to save the monarchy because CG is as charismatic as an ice cube.

In the 1980s she was "the Queen" in German tabloids, together with Grace (Kelly) - and the Germans adored her because she was German. It cooled down when the Diana craze started. But up to that point. I think she feels like she is owning people something.
