Eric X was King of Sweden from 1208 to 1216. In November 1210 he was the first (known) Swedish king who was crowned.

Richeza of Denmark was Queen Consort of Sweden from 1210 to 1216 as the wife of King Eric X. When she arrived at the Swedish court, she expressed her surprise that she was expected to ride and not travel by carriage, as she had been used to in Denmark.

Ingegerd Birgersdotter of Bjelbo was  Queen of Sweden as the second wife of King Sverker II. In c.1200 she was married to King Sverker after the demise of his first consort Benedicta, and became Queen of Sweden directly upon her marriage. She was Queen Consort from 1200 to 1208.

John (Johan) III was King of Sweden from 1569 until 1592. In 1581 he assumed also the title of Grand Duke of Finland.

King Charles X Gustav reigned from 1654 to 1660. He was of the House of Palatinate-Zweibrucken. His father was John Casimir, Count Palatinate of Zweibrucken-Kleeburg.

On June 6, 1654, in a public ceremony, Queen Christina abdicated the throne of Sweden. The members of her council removed her regalia. However, Count Per Brahe, who was supposed to remove her crown, could not bring himself to do it. Christina removed the crown herself.

Very interesting!  I wonder how the monarch who succeeded her felt about Per Brahe's presumed intense loyalty to her.  I also wonder if Per Brahe has anything to do with Tycho Brahe, famed astronomer.

I wonder who the woman standing in the centre is? It looks like she is wearing the aquamarine kokoshnik, but I am unsure when that tiara was created, nor if the woman in question would have acces to it.

The Aquamarine Kokosnik came from the collection of Princess Margaret of Connaught, who married the future King Gustaf VI Adolf.
