Charles VII was King of Sweden from 1161 to 1167. He is the first known historically known king of Sweden by the name of Charles, but use of the ordinal VII is widespread.

You would've lost it anyway, eventually. It was never yours!

I find it kind of funny that bunch of people are arguing who is more noble than the other. The only reason they have the system in the first place is because someone was elevated above the other at some point, maybe because they were skilled at something. It doesn't mean their descendants were. They are all just people, not blue blooded aliens (or are they...?  Secret Crazy ). I also find it funny that a family line is considered extinct if there's no direct male line alive. As we all know, a father is more uncertain than a mother.

Some were against that Victoria would be queen and married a Westling because of as they see it the dynasti is with the men in a family. But now the law sais Bernadotte are still on the throne but som elder were really upset. Happy it changed.

Desiree Clary's lasting contribution to the Bonapartes was sister-in-law. Her sister Julie married Napoleon's brother Joseph. Julie became Queen of Spain with Napoleon's conquered territories.

King Gustav III distracted himself with artistic and cultural pursuits in a coffer draining attempt to emulate French country life by which he was much impressed.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Eric X was the King of Sweden between 1208 and 1216. Without support by the Church, he was able to foment a network of followers in short time and defeat troops from Denmark. At the time Denmark was the major Scandinavian power.

During the Gustavian era of Sweden, one claus of the new coronation oath aimed at making abdications in the future impossible by binding the king to reign uninterruptedly.
