Magnus II (c. 1130-1161) was King of Sweden between 1160 and 1161. He is first mentioned in 1148 when he witnessed a document issued by King Sweyn III of Denmark.

As per her father's wishes, Queen Christina of Sweden was given the same education that a male heir would have gotten. The subjects she learned included politics, history, philosophy, and religion.

Maria Eleonora of Brandenburg (1599-1655) was the Queen Consort of King Gustav II Adolph of Sweden.
Though she was a German princess and a Swedish queen, she did not properly write German or Swedish. She spoke and most often wrote in French, which was the court language.

Today is 'fettisdagen' in Sweden, our equivalent of Shrove Tuesday or Mardi Gras. The tradition is to eat a Semla Bun, and an amusing royal anecdote is that King Adolf Frederick died after overinduldging in the cakes!
