I've read a bit about the GRF, I would like to know more as they are a interesting bunch; and I though that we could have a thread to discuss their history

And also to debate the (0.00001%) possibilities they have of the restoration of the monarchy in Greece

I hope you like it  Smiley

First the father of the DoE is Prince Andrew the younger son of George I of G.

Here with his brothers

He married Princess Alice of Battenberg

Her life seems to be interesting, I didn't know about her  Smiley

they had five children, 4 daughters and a boy, the DoE

Princess Margarita of Greece and Denmark

Princess Theodora of Greece and Denmark

Princess Cecilie of Greece and Denmark

Princess Sophie of Greece and Denmark

I couldn't find photos for two of them, I have to search more

the one you say that died in an accident is Cecilie no? I will look for more photos of her  Smiley

Your a star bar Rearden Thumb up. Princess Cecilie was the one killed and I think she was pregnant at the time. Princess Andrew was deaf and in  1930, she was diagnosed with schizophrenia and committed to a sanatorium; thereafter, she lived separately from her husband. After her recovery, she devoted most of her remaining years to charity work in Greece. She stayed in Athens during the Second World War, sheltering Jewish refugees, for which she is recognised as "Righteous Among the Nations" at Yad Vashem. After the war, she stayed in Greece and founded an Orthodox nursing order of nuns known as the Christian Sisterhood of Martha and Mary.In 1967, she was invited by her son and daughter-in-law to live at Buckingham Palace in London, where she died two years later.
She was unwell for most of Philip's life and he was taken care of by his mother's family. Really Philip has a unsettled childhood and quite sad.

The DoE was so dashing as a young man.  It's sad that none of his sons inherited his looks (Well, maybe Andrew, a little bit.)

Yes, Cecilie was the one that died in a plane crush while she was pregnant. She looks pretty here, but there's always a but...She had joined the Nazi party with her husband in 1937. Thumb down
