I'll give him a pass on this one. He is known for being courteous. He was famously pictured shaking Robert Mugabe's hand at the funeral of Pope John Paul II in 2005. (addition: He was actually supposed to marry Camilla that day but the funeral meant they had to postpone the wedding by one day...)

Just leaving this here next time we are reminded of Chuck's environmentalism.

When YOU change Chuck and when YOU sacrifice and when YOU hand over your hard-earned.... I'll listen.

Just another "do as I say, not as I do". I like Charles for the most part, but he is just as hypocritical as the Hollywood celebs and elites.

I agree heís always been very do as I say not as I do on many subjects. On a thread here, canít find which one, there was discussion of where the $ for the Duchy of Cornwall comes from. Today I discovered an interesting bit of trivia. Not only does he own 132,000 acres which he rents out.....apparently any resident of Cornwall who dies without a will, the entire estate goes to the Duchy, regardless of whether there are heirs. He gained 1.1 million pounds last year from that source.

Some additional notes to that situation with those who die intestate in the Duchy:

1. The same applies to anyone who dies in the Duchy of Lancaster only the money goes to The Queen.

2. Both The Queen and Charles insist on the money going into a fund in case someone comes forward later to prove they are entitled to the money in which case they are given it.

3. Any profits are put back into the Duchy (not taken by The Queen and Charles as profits from their Duchies)

4. If someone dies intestate outside the Duchies the money goes into the Treasury and it is much hard to claim it back if you can prove you are the rightful heir to that money.

It is very important to draw a distinction between intestacy and bona vacantia.   If a person dies without a valid will, they die intestate, but in the UK, as in Australia, there is a set of rules which applies to ensure that the intestate person's widow/widower and children and others in the statutory order (parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts & uncles etc.) receive their estate.  It is a relatively simple matter of obtaining a grant of Letters of Administration, similar to a grant of Probate, and the legislative scheme then applies.  It is only in the case where there are no surviving relatives or identifiable beneficiaries of other kinds that the concept of bona vacantia - ownerless property - applies, under which that property passes to the Crown, or one of the Duchies.  https://www.gov.uk/guidance/make-a-claim-to-a-deceased-persons-estate#overview

Cams coat is gorgeous. I would wear that. Also, itís not unusual for unclaimed estates to go to the government. My sister lives in the states and she has $20,000 in a Charles Schwab account that she never touches, doesnít need to. She received a letter from Charles Schwab that since she hadnít touched it in 5 years, it is considered abandoned and they are required to turn it over to the government unless she writes to Schwab telling them not to.
