Every picture of Sophie going about her work reminds me she's a total gem for the BRF. Warm, caring, does the job, shows up to stuff and is always interested, educated, intelligent, and genuinely uses her position to do good work - like the blindness charities.  Thumb up

The Countess later met the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Mr Saad Hariri. Afterwards, The Countess visited a shelter which supports refugee women, young people and children and offers temporary housing, medical assistance, counselling and legal help. This is the first official Royal visit to Lebanon.

Wow, first official Royal visit, and it's Sophie. The woman does not get the credit or press she deserves.

I'd make a few changes in the pattern of the fabric, but she is appropriately dressed and looks nice.

Didn't know that...

...On 10 March 2019, the Queen granted the Earldom of Forfar to the Earl of Wessex for use in Scotland. Sophie thus uses the title Countess of Forfar when in Scotland

I like the dresses but I wish she would wear them at a shorter length. They can seem to overwhelm her, especially the patterned ones.

Hmm. . . She is wearing is these two long. The green one is the same length on the model but she's definitely wearing the black one at a longer length. Could be she choose them for this particular visit and wore a longer length for the particular country?

On the other hand she could just like the length.

The Queen must have wanted to put her best foot forward for the first visit! This silhouette looks perfect on Sophie.

Whenever I read the Sophie topic it impresses me that she is tasked with taking these out-of-UK trips without her husband, who is QEII's son, and appears to be given all the courtesies as if she was taking the trip with him. Often they are to areas such as India or Indonesia. She always looks calm and collected despite the heat and humidity.

Has Edward ever accompanied her on these types of trips? Or does he remain home with the children because they are still in school? I know Anne travels by herself. It takes a strong sense of self and duty to take these trips I think. Well done, Sophie.

Sophie and Edward do most of their overseas visits solo.

When they are representing The Queen - such as last year's festivities in Sri Lanka for the 70th anniversary of Independence they went together but the vast majority of their overseas visits are solo.

Earlier this year Sophie went to India alone but last year it was Edward who went solo.

Edward has already visited Eastern Europe this year - alone.

They do very few engagements together - other than the big family events - even in the UK and appear to hardly ever travel together.

Its like you get a two-for-one with the Wessexes as they can operate independently. I dunno, maybe years of working and running her own PR business, rather than laying about or 'acting' has something to do with it?  Thinking

I like both dresses but not at that length, although the green one is a good length for her. they have a beautiful 30s style tea dress in the sale that hits about knee length that I would get the green one in.

Suzannah is a luxury womenswear brand designed by British designer Suzannah Crabb which specialises in making unique premium cloth into modern silhouettes reflective of vintage couture classics.

So she wears British who does a modern take on classics likely originated out of French houses like... Givenchy. I see one of their new pieces has that lampshade design Megz wore on her girls big train trip with Liz. Some lovely stuff though - perfect if you need to do a garden party, an upscale wedding, high-end corporate entertaining, or what have you where you need to do subtle understated wealth and position.
