What a lovely photo! I've always thought Constantine was one of the best looking royals in his youth. That slightly uncomfy age gap aside, he and Anne-Marie were such a gorgeous couple. I hope their children and her sisters can be a rock for her, I cannot imagine how difficult life would be after one loses a companion of almost 60 years.
Also very frustrated that not even Constantine's death is immune from silly conspiracy theories. The poor man was in his 80s and had been in poor health for at least half a decade.
Their age gap is only 6 years. It is normal. Maybe the main factor is that they married so young. She was 18, he was 24. Thank you, I was quite confused, searching for their birth dates. Yes, that seems very young. Did they have a happy marriage (AFAWK)?

I wonder if he will be buried at Tatoi, in the family graveyard? His parents are buried there I believe. Also his grandparents, and many other relations.
It's his family request and Constantinos himself had told this many times. We'll see what happens. As I'd written some years ago, left-wing people will strongly opposed. Voices or rage have already been rised in our media.

I'm thinking about Anne Marie. Will she go to Denmark now? I think it's the obvious thing to do. What will she do alone here? At least she seems very close with her sister, that's a big deal!
I wish I could meet her, I like her a lot!
(I also wish I had met Konstantinos as well... )

Plus her sister should have ample room in her now deserted palaces..

Rest In Peace. I’m glad he could die in his own country, that must have been some comfort to him.
If Charles or William attends I will raise an eyebrow, after the mess with Queen Fabiola’s funeral. I will also raise an eyebrow if he sends the Wessexes as QE2 used to for European events. Basically, I’m expecting to at least mildly disapprove of anything the BRF does in regards to Constantine’s funeral, but I’m pretty fed up with all of the Windsors right now so I’m hard to please.
Constantine II was also godfather of Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands, who apparently is named after him (Constantijn is the Dutch version of Constantine). Prince Constantijn is the youngest of the three sons of former Queen Beatrix and prince Claus, therefore the youngest brother of current King WA.

I think she will spend the better part of her time in Denmark. As you note, there's not much left for her in Greece. Other than Nikolaos and Tatiana, none of her children and grandchildren live in Greece. Anne-Marie can use Denmark as her base (where she can be close to her two sisters) and then travel as she wants to see the various family members.

My feeling is that she will remain in Greece. It's where her husband wanted to retire so I think she will stay. Nick and Tatiana live in Athens so although she will visit Denmark more, I think her base will still be there. They did seem like a happy couple so it is going to be very tough. She married him at 18 so probably grew up with him. Sad for her.

It really depends on what social connections she has. She seems to have a nice relationship with her son and daughter-in-law but they are young people with their own projects. If she’s embedded in a ladies group that’s nice but the reason for her living in Greece is gone now. Yes it’s beautiful there and money is likely not an issue but Denmark might be pulling hard at this point. She and her sisters seem super close and she may be given rooms in a palace to live in. Good health care system and a relatively small city to navigate and a nice social status instead of being looked at as the matron of those uppity Greek fake royals. That must be a weird dynamic to navigate.

It seems as if the three Danish sisters have always been fairly close. Perhaps their shared widowhood will draw them every closer.

I think it is not an either/or. It is more a how much time in Greece, how much time in Denmark? Plus: We have no idea how often they do private visits, using private planes ...

Does Benedikte live in Denmark? I thought she lived in Germany, where her son and daughter in law live.

I think its tough to say where she may base herself going forward. The house they lived in before the recent move to Athens had quite a lot of space around it, as did hteir London home (relatively). In that sense I can't see her loving life in Amalienborg where tourists can get right up to the front door and the gardens are pretty small. Its also a whole different climate to Greece. I can see her staying in Greece or maybe even back in the UK where they lived for a long time or even Spain maybe in a nice house by the sea. That said I think she will visit Denmark more, maybe visiting her sister when she is in Fredensborg, Marselisborg or Grasten for weeks at a time.
