I didn't know princess Christina was a flower girl at their wedding. Can anyone identify the various bridesmaids? Left side top: Sweden's Christina? and UK's Anne? Right side: top: Greece's Irene and on the third step is Romania's Margareta who looks like she's not going to pose for one more photo. The bridesmaids were: - Princess Anne of the United Kingdom - Princess Christina of Sweden - Princess Irene of Greece and Denmark - Princess Margareta of Romania - Princess Clarissa of Hesse - Princess Tatiana Radziwiłł I assume: upper left: Princess Christina of Sweden low left: Princess Anne of the United Kingdom upper right: Princess Irene of Greece and Denmark second up right: Princess Tatiana Radziwiłł third up right: Princess Margareta of Romania low right: Princess Clarissa of Hesse Good identifications Principessa! Thank you.

It sounds like many of the bridesmaids made it except for Tatiana and Clarissa unless they were there I admit I don't know them. Margarita wasn't there but her husband represented her. She must have had a bad cold or other serious condition that kept her from making the trip. It's still nice to think of how the couple's sisters rallied to Anne Marie's side.

Slightly OT but an observation: A-M's dress, and those of her bridesmaids, were timeless. You could wear them today. So pretty.

It really is true. Pretty and classic. I wish I could see the pattern on the hems. I like the necklines and the single strand of pearls. Not the same with Marge's funny Juliet hat thingie.

Thank you. You are welcome. Some faces (including hairdo) well already familiar. While others I have searched on Google, to see how they look now and in the past. Off course the right side of bridesmaids was a bit harder to identify.

Margarita of Romania didn't make it. Clarissa may have, but I haven't seen her in any attendance lists in years. Tatiana and Sofia are very good friends, so I'm sure she was at the funeral.

I think the pattern on the hem is a sprig of lily of the valley, hanging downwards. Lovely wedding, and I like how the photographer arranged them so the lady in the discordant red in mostly hidden . . .

It doesn't matter how old you get, buying snacks for a road trip should always look like an unsupervised 9-year-old was given $100. Anonymous

Good eye LL I can see that now. It also seems to be on an underskirt peeking out from the hem of the top skirt.

The photo with the bridesmaids made me think of a kind of weird thing that happened when I went to a funeral several years ago. One of my college classmates had died. Both he and his wife, were actually in my class, and my college roommate and I were the bridesmaids.
Without going into too much detail that could be used for identification purposes, let’s just say, my college classmate did extraordinarily well financially in life. So when he died, many of the people who were at the funeral were from his exalted socioeconomic status.
Most of the other people at the funeral were wearing designer clothing, and had what appeared to be professionally done, hair and make up.
My college roommate and I were appropriately dressed in our best black clothing appropriate for a funeral, but it was clear that we were not wearing designer labels, that we did not arrive in a chauffeur-driven car, and, aside from our dead friend and his widow and their children, did not seem to know most of the other people in attendance.
At the reception, following the funeral, one woman came up to us, and said in a really pointed way “and just WHO are you?” to which I immediately replied, without thinking “oh, we’re just the bridesmaids.“ And then I realized how incongruous that sounded, but that was the truth of the matter. We were the bridesmaids, we had witnessed their wedding, and we had remain friends with them for all of their marriage.

Would that be Bene? I imagine she was in her sister's wedding picture?
TBF, I think the bridesmaid dresses look classic and pleasing to today's eyes, because we have come full circle fashionwise and bridal clothes are similar to then. A dress, that I would love to see more off and believe could easily be worn today is Ingrid's. I adore that teal colour, she looks fabulously elegant, the neckline suits her jewels perfectly and she takes nothing away from her daughter the bride: the perfect mother-of-the-bride outfit. (esp. considering that usually mother-of-the-... sounds to me rather old fashioned for elderly ladies - and Ingrid was exactly my age* when that pic was taken)
*btw that rather surprised me! She married at 25, but didn't have her children immediately. Anne-Marie was born when she was 36!

It's nice to know that you can walk around town normally and have friends even though you were once queen of the place. I like this about her.

I like that too, but I also like the attitude of the country of Greece and their people. No bad feelings anymore which to a certain degree came up again during Constantine's funeral. Looks like Annemarie is very attached to her home country and good for her that Nicholaos and his wife are also living close to look after her. All her other children are living so far away.
