From the article:

Former king of Greece, Constantine, said he is not interested in entering Greek politics because he doesn?t know anything about politics. He refuses to apologize for the coup in Greece because he was not aware that a move for a dictatorship was being planned in 1967.

My God, he's delusional.  He needs to apologize.  He was an idiot for swearing them in, and Greece suffered as a result.  He owes the Greeks a statement like, "I had no idea and I'm sorry I betrayed the people of Greece". The comment about not entering Greek politics is laughable because his statements are indeed political.  He'd have to be a complete moron not to realize that.

He stated that history would want him to be remembered as someone who preferred to step back rather than let his country slip into another civil war.

No, dude.  History will not want you to be remembered as such.  History will show that you were a foolish and selfish man who made a grave error and fled the country instead of staying and fighting.

He's a fool for thinking he'd ever have a chance to come back, IMO.  He blew it back in 1967, and he should be counting his lucky stars that his in-laws on both sides of his family supported him all these years.

The only people I feel sorry for in this case are his wife, his children, and the people he abandoned when he fled like a coward.  He wasn't fit to be king, and his actions prove it, IMO.
Laugh bounce Laugh bounce
I feel almost guilty that I lought with the bold part but it's true.

Being naive and clueless are not good features for a king. He was unprepared, I wonder why. The fact that he swore them it was the biggest mistake he could ever make. Was he scared? I have to find time to translate that interview he gave in a greek channel a couple years ago. He talks about what happened then.
I think he really wants to help the country but, once again, he doesn't know how.

What kind of preparation did he get?  I always assume that these people literally spend their lives being prepared to be a monarch.  Based on his actions, it seems like he had zero preparation.  I can't help but wonder if some of this is due to his own arrogance.  It was very bizarre behavior from someone who was raised to do that job.  That's one of the arguments for monarchy-that they're born to rule.  In his case, that theory was wrong.

To me, the rumors of him having a stroke aren't true.  I don't think he'd be out walking like that if he had a stroke last week.  He looks frail, but not more frail than he was the last time we saw him.

Are they living in Athens?

Are they living in Athens?

When he's in Greece he lives in Porto Heli, the seaside town he visited years ago in the late summer of 1993 whn the Greek navy chased him all around the islands and the Greek air force flew planes very low over his rented yacht.

Additional:  I think Nikolaos and Tatiana live in Athens.  I could also be that Constantine and Anne Marie have a small flat in Athens. I'm not certain of that issue.

I'm trying to find out more information to round out our knowledge of where they're all located.

Quote from The Guardian:  Earlier this year, however, Constantine struck lucky when he sold his north London mansion, his home for the past 30 years, for ?9.5m. By contrast, property prices in Athens have plummeted to the point where real estate can be acquired for a song: studio flats, should the ex-king want one, are selling for as little as ?6,000 (?5,000) in the city centre.

_____________

Also from The Guardian:  Prince Nikolaos and his wife Princess Tatiana made the same move a few months back

_____________

http://www.grreporter.inf...r_palace_porto_cheli/5618

The last Greek King Constantine is preparing to build a new summer palace near Gialeza just above the cosmopolitan resort of Porto Cheli. According to the information in the Greek newspaper Ethnos, the former Greek royal family is preparing to build a complex of houses and to make its dream to settle in the area come true.

_____________

Okay, so you really just need to read this article from my last quote, http://www.grreporter.inf...r_palace_porto_cheli/5618

It looks like as far back as 2007 and 2008 there were business dealings which laid the groundwork for the family to come back into the country buying land in Porto Heli to form a complex of several houses.

Nik and Tatiana live in Athens and rent a flat from (ironically) Papandreou's son.  I know C&AM have a place in Porto Heli, but I don't think that complex ever came to fruition.

I wonder if they stay with Nik and Tatiana when they're in Athens or if they've got a place of their own.

IIRC the office of Constantine sent a press release denying a stroke. They said the hospital visit was a regular check-up.

They apparently have a suite at some hotel in Athens for when they stay there.

I did further reading, Pixiecat, and several publications mention some type of flat of apartments in Athens where C&AM stay in the city and then, of course, the Porto Heli property.

I've given it my best shot and that's all I find are vague references to Athens and a flat and that Nik and Tatiana live in Athens too.

That's very funny article because of the story that covers: in the 1st picture we see another man following the opposite direction, this man is our Minister of Economy, Euclides Tsakalotos. The article says that AnneMarie had a smile in her face when she saw him but the two men didn't greet each other.

pixie - we share the same questions about a possible preparation, if he had at all. I don't know a thing.

Of course this is Greece and God knows when they'll decide to start the study and the actual renovation... not to mention the possibility that the money will be "lost" during the years and the project may remain unfinished... we'll see.

Constantine and Anne-Marie were in Denmark recently to attend a memorial service for a Danish sailor. Based on the video, Constantine doesn't seem to be doing too well.

Thanks onar for this info.  It's taken them years to get to this point and I feel it will take just as many years to start a
  renovation for this project.
I would love to know who will pay for this. Surely not the taxpayers who can barely make ends meet. !!

Here is another article in English.
