Wow, if Anne-Marie's only in her late teens/early twenties in these pics, her parents look old enough to be her grandparents!
Her father was almost old enough to be her grandfather - 47 when she was born, so he's in his mid-60s here, and I think looks older than that. Her mother was younger (36 at her birth), but I think Ingrid, while always an attractive woman, aged very quickly and usually looked at least 10 years older than she actually was.Oh-so she has something else in common with Mary besides wearing the ruby parure  |

I think Nikolaos looks a lot like Ingrid, more than any of the other grandchildren.
I like Anne-Marie, too. She seems normal and easy going, while still maintaining a real air of dignity about herself.
Completely not so weird that AM got married so young. She was groomed for it, after all. You're right, Rearden, it happened quite a bit in the 60s with young women.

I met Schmidt several times and he was/is just such a nice person and very interesting. I remember being primed to call him Herr Alt-Bundeskanzler (and I pracised that several times!!!  ) but he cut me short at the very first attempt, saying that his name was Schmidt and that should be easy enough....  Anyway, knowing that back in the sixties a lot of girls got married and pregnant that young is still not helping, looking at the photos I always marvel at how absurdly young they look. |

She passed away.
And I met Angie too, funny and down to earth and back then she didn't have the huge make-over. (A colleage of mine had the funny idea to grab her and do her hair...I had the hardest time maintaining a straight face)
