Ludwigs second wife, the actress Antonie von Bartolf

Albert was the grandfather of Johannes, the husband of Gloria

Here Johannes, Albert and cousin Anselm.

I´m not sure if it is this brooche.

http://www.royal-magazin..../taxis-perlen-brosche.htm

Pearl and Diamond Devant de Corsage of the Princly House of Thurn und Taxis

Designed as a three pearl and diamond circuit clusters, each set with a large pearl within a border of cushion-shaped and brillian-cut diamonds arrounded by similarly cut diamond scrolled leaves, supporting five pearshaped pearl drops capped by rose diamonds on cushion-shaped diamond chains.

This devant de corsage was a wedding present from Fürst Albert von Thurn and Taxis to Fürstin Margarete in 1889.

The large pearls and diamond clusters largely resemble the four shoulder and bodice brooches made by Francois Kramer in 1853 for Empress Eugenie to match the tiara and devant de corsage by Lemonnier.

In the 1887 sale of the French Crown jewels the brooches went respectiviely to:Sir Ogden Goelet-the Bapst firm and than to Fa. Grub.

One is known to survive intact. The brooch is also similar to the bodice ornament in the pearl and diamond parure made by Garrard´s given as his principal wedding present by th Prince of Wales to his bride Alexandra Princess of Denmark in 1883.

my, my, that is the true meaning of "lie back and think of the England (or in this case Bavaria)"....

I would know, on my maternal side - not so long ago - we had an arranged/forced marriage. Not happy, not loving, and the outcome were three children. Well, I guess one has to fulfill one's wifely duties.  Dead
