The embroidery on the dress seems to be inspired by bunads, if that is made by hand it is not a cheap dress to put it carefully, but very beautifull work and very «her» considering her post pandemic interest the arts and crafts.

Agreed!  Love the rich color and embroidery but can’t get past those sleeves.  Hope she’ll save this gown for a state banquet.  It’s very flattering on her.

Possibly? It's peculiar to have new portrait photos of H&MM and not of Harald and Sonja.

I must say, MM looks utterly beautiful in these photos. I really hope she is doing well. We've seen more of her in recent weeks and she hasn't cancelled any engagements I don't think.

There were take official portraits of the King and Queen in 2021. The last ones of the cp couple are from 2016.
But yes it does seem like they are making some preparations, as they should, the King is 87 after all. But I do not understand why theese photos that was taken in 2023 are released now and not for their 50th birthday last year when everyone was expecting them to be released and they instead released some very casual photos. Some of them are a litle heavy on the airbrush/light. The hair up and a bigger tiara would also have been welcome 🫣
