Spanish Royal Palaces

The Prince and Princess Residence. It was finished in 2002 and imo is pretty ugly, even worse taking into account that it's a royal residence(with all the empty palaces we have  )

So...La Zarzuela is not the same with Royal Palace. I always thought is the same Palace...Intersting

You're welcome ssassi.  back at you. No, it's not the same, one (the Royal Palace) it's in Madrid and it's the official residence of the King(and Queen). The other it's in the country outside Madrid and used to be a hunting lodge.
I'll post some pictures of the inside now but as it has never been an impressive palace and since they married it's been their private residence there are not many photos.

You're welcome  . When they got married and settled in Spain they were offered the Zarzuela Palace, near El Pardo were Franco lived. When he died, they stayed there.

This table is horrifying. The only positive thing is that all the pictures are from the first, public floor, where their offices are and they didn't have a table and added this one for the photo.

Except for the obvious ones, the rest of the pictures are pre-Letizia so maybe some of the furniture is changed now.

I think I read somewhere, Clarita, that after Franco died they were offered El Pardo to move into since it was more "palatial" but they declined.

I think I read somewhere, Clarita, that after Franco died they were offered El Pardo to move into since it was more "palatial" but they declined.

I've read the same thing! 
Maybe they wanted to disassociate themselves from the dictator, maybe they really liked their home, who knows!
